Alot of $$$$ for a dude that couldn't get off the Cavs bench. Does he speak the same language as Zibic? Maybe he can help with him.

He can't be worse than Hibbert.

That's a lot for a 30 year old backup center.

He's going to be 30 years old next year, right in line with our core's age, brilliant addition. FML

I think he's a professional that will come in, work hard, and do the dirty work. He's not going to demand touches and is probably a good locker room guy.

He wasn't someone I particularly wanted but I don't think its a terrible deal in an sense.

Agreed. I have absolutely no idea why so many people are standing on the side of the bridge behind this news.

Just that he's 30 years old is enough reason to be pissed at this move.

Lakers have fallen deeper than I could ever imagine... Is he our starter now? I'm sick!

Maybe he will turn the offer down... I hope this is a prank...

We don't know the particulars of the deal if it happens. We can't know they can't actually do it until what July 7? We won 17 games. The last several pages of the free agency thread have been about how top free agents are not interested in meeting with us. Because they want to win now not rebuild. Here's a solid pro guy that will play hard and be a good locker room guy with our young folks...I am just not seeing the tragedy here. Particularly when we still have money and we can get other people it's not like free agency is over.

Solid pro who is going to work, is of average nba center talent who wants to play and won't bring any drama? Sign me up. 16 mil is a lot of money but with the cap increasing again this season it won't feel like that much money in a couple of years.

Fair signing, way to do something Mitch

yeah, agree also.
this isn't a home run, but considering the cap is projected to go up another $16m next year too, getting Mosgov at this price is a reasonably good deal.
Next year, it probably looks like a great deal
and he could probably be traded

Lets see how this shakes out, and what the lakers do with the rest of the money. Because I'm wondering if it's not a better deal to take on Kanter at $22 million and squeeze extra assets from OKC, since they want to make room for Horford.
