The only reason the media ran with something so trivial is because the Lakera signed him and they wanted negative energy thrown at it because it gets hits. |

I thought groin injuries can become serious.
And the fact that he was scheduled for an MRI shows potential of something being bad. But I agree, anything Lakers will generate hits. |

I'm glad the injury is minor, I wanna see how he does in training camp, could really help the negativity lower a little bit if he contributes. |

KobeRe-Loaded wrote: | This is actually not a bad signing. Yes, the Lakers overpaid ... I think 4 yrs $48-52M would have gotten him.
Skill wise, go watch some highlights. The guy does the following well....
- Size, legit 7'1" with a 7'6" wingspan
- Mobile, runs the floor well for his size (270 lbs+)
- Blocks, he may not average more than 1.5 per but he will challenge a lot of them
- Rebounding, great at taking up space below ... Randle and Nance will love him.
- Offense, as others mentioned great off the screen and roll. He'll dunk it well. He's got a good touch from 15-18 ft out.
- Hands, I'm not sure where hands of stones come from but the videos I've seen he does a great job catching passes in transition.
- Great FG% and not a FT% liability
Overall .... B- (I think we overpaid by $10M+)
What to expect ...
28 mpg
12 ppg
8 reb
1.5 blks |
Mozgov first game 12/8 but in only 22 min
Liking his addition and the way the team plays _________________ #11/08/16 America became GREAT again

He really is sort of like a spryer Bogut minus the passing ability. I like the addition quite a bit as well. I just love how he can catch and finish. Hopefully he maintains this performance.

We only paid 64m for Moz? What the heck took us so long. The way he balled tonight we should have signed him way before 12:01! |

solid mosy like game. nothing out of the ordinary. This is to be expected. Now I must warn you guys. Houston does not have a real center. So we'll see what he does when we play a few teams with actual center's. But i will still take it as someone said above. |

Great to see Moz do work tonight and silence a few....I still see him him in the 8-10/6-7/1.5/1.5 range for averages for the season _________________ "We might have had the worst season ever or could have the worst season ever for a Lakers team, but now let's have the greatest comeback that the league has ever seen." - Kobe Bryant |

Props to you Omar, you tried to convince people that Moz signing made sense cause of his modern NBA style. |

And I think there's a sneaky passer in Moz waiting to break out. This is the first time he's being asked to create, and even though he'll never be Bogut, he's flashed a bit over the past 8 games enough to make me think he can be a plus creator once everyone gets on the same page. That feed to JR off the DLo PnR was schweet. |

His first game in the preseason, he had some real nice passes. And yeah that pass to Randle was very nice.
Maybe he'll grow into the role, but I feel comfortable saying he's very far away from Bogut in terms of passing ability. |

Was hoping he would play more than the only 22 minutes but I guess that kind of was the expected range. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Rockets didn't play real big too many minutes. His minutes will vary according to lineup needs. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

I remember during the preseason when Houston played the China team and the Rocket announcers were whining about NeNe being better despite the cheap contract.. Well..
Moz: 12/8/2
NeNe: 7/3/3 |
