I like how that headline makes it sound like we're getting James Harden for Nick Young LOL. If Mitch ever pulled that off.... I don't even know what...
That would be quite awesome though if Houston completely eschewed the defensive end. Almost treating it as a disease. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
We're continuing to pay the BS tax. Like Lin, BS's BS has removed all value from Young as a player. He was our best perimeter defender last year (sad but true) and was on a roll until "circus" happened. Like Lin, a year on an NBA level team will resuscitate his value but we can't afford to be the team where that happens.
He's 31. Been known as this kind of clown-ish player for nearly a decade.
He can't manage to stay on a team, let alone get to the playoffs on one.
He is what he is. His value has dropped mostly b/c of his own actions.
I agree this has gone way beyond being Scott's fault......and that is really saying something
I think its a little bit of both to be honest. Byron Scott made a few guys look a lot worse than they really are, based on the type of basketball he wanted to play. I would also put Hibbert alongside Lin and Young as players Scott couldn't get the best out of.
That being said Young hasn't done a good job of remaining professional off the court, which has put the pressure on the FO the probably let him go.
I am of the camp that believes if Luke can talk to him and come to some sort of agreement or something. I would keep him.
Reuniting with Mike D is probably makes the most sense of all the scenarios out there. As has been mentioned, the year Swaggy played for d'Antoni was his best year as a pro. I'm sure Mike wouldn't mind having a guy that can put up 17 ppg off the bench. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks”

Hopefully the Lakers can convince Houston to give up Patrick Beverly or one of there young players.

Why? Let's get some pieces while we can. If Houston wants Young we have the power to get one of there valuable players, Mitch is a poker when it comes to stealing GEMs in trades.

Exactly. If they can't trade him they're cutting him. Wait for the cut.

Does Houston have any roster spots left to sign him if he is cut?
With the off-season winding down, it's not a surprise Nick Young wants to "reconcile" now that his roster spot is in question. I obviously wish him the best, but I don't buy anything he's saying. He came off as immature and bitter in his tweets.
I think most of us would be bitter in the same situation. He should have just kicked DLO's ass and called a truce.
Kicked his ass why?? Because he video taped Swaggy admitting to cheating on Iggy (which D-Lo said they video taped each other saying/doing dumb stuff all the time....playing around)? D-Lo told Swaggy that he had been recording him while he was doing it. All Swaggy needed to do was make him delete it right then or delete it himself. He didn't....leaving it on D-Lo's phone. D-Lo had no reason to think it'd get taken and released by someone else....as Swaggy didn't think it could happen either (or he would've gotten rid of it that night).
If D-Lo would've taped him without telling him while the tape was running then it'd be his fault!!
Yep. Have you seen the posts Gilbert Arenas posts of himself trolling Nick and his son? They cross the line to the point where I wonder why Nick is even his friend. But it seems like this is what Nick and his buddies do.

People just can't let this Swaggy/DLO incident go.
Even though both players have.
It's funny. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

He conveniently "let it go" right when it was rumored he was going to get cut by the Lakers. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Houston could use a backup SF that can shoot the 3 so Young could be appealing to them.
Gordon is injury prone so Young can also fill in at backup SG if/when he gets hurt.
I'd love to get a young prospect from them like McDaniels or Dekker in return or at the very least a future 2nd round pick.
Wow, I don't know he has positive trade value. Most likely he, with his contract, has negative value.
I would give the two picks from the Bulls to make it happen. Take it as a three way and the Lakers swap Young(2yr/11M) for Claderon(1yr/7M). Saves money and 2017 cap space. Still a good trade imo.
For the Rockets, or team X, instead of waiting for a maybe/maybe not buyout, they get Young and the picks. Two 2nd rounders can get you as many as 5M cash, so the Rockets, or team X, essentially pays only 2yr/6M for Young. If Mike D likes his experience with Young two years ago, there is a possibility.
