Can't blame KD. He doesn't want to retire ringless like Barkley or the Mailman but as a fan, I don't want the Warriors with KD to win, ever. These superteams make the leaque far less competitive and interesting because you already know the outcome.

What a hypocrite.

Pretty much everyone who bashed superteams has proved to be a hypocrite about it.

The players who didn't jump to great teams either already had great teams or they regret never having/taking the opportunity. Who was ever mad about how much help Magic had? Who wanted him to challenge himself on a bad team?

Yeah, I saw a fan make this comment on another forum and agree with it:

Quote:
do you guys think that any of the Durant haters calling him a soft loser for joining the 73-win Warriors would be praising him for challenging himself and proving that he's a real man if he signed with the 10-win 76ers instead?

i'm pretty sure they would all be calling him an idiot for throwing his career down the toilet and ruining his chances to ever get a ring.

OH SNAP! Seriously?!? Wow!

But I have to say I started having just a totally unfounded inkling he might move (not nec to GSW but to somewhere) when I was watching these talking heads on NBATV and they were going on about how "guys like Durant like stability and to know their role and that's why he'll stay" yadda yadda, as if they can read his mind . Lol

Anyway I'm not sure how he'll fit in GSW and what that's going to do to their depth - which was an asset for them IMO - but it'll be interesting to see how this plays out...

KD waited to see where Mozgov would sign before deciding.

KD is a lame tbh. He was already on a contender. Ah well he and the brick brothers can blow 3-1 leads together now

With no Ezeli or Bogut, where's GSW's frontline depth though? GSW was exposed by OKC and to a lesser degree, Cleveland, with the lack of rebounding.

No way he was ever gonna sign with the Lakers, and there is no way the Lakers were gonna beat the Warriors anyway..

But their are TWO bight points for the Lakers:

1) The Warriors need to dump salary, Lakers should look to see if there are any players that we could add for nothing...!

2) This just about assures that Westbrook, will be leaving after next season, Lakers need to ensure they have the max cap space to make a run at him...!

GSW is a path to winning because of the ground work West has laid at GS.

If the league somehow happened to rescind this move would you still be fawning over Jerry?
If Stern didn't veto our push would you still harbour feelings of dissatisfaction towards our FO?
This adulation for one man is too much granted he does deserve some praise bit not all of it

Yep. If the Lakers had just barely missed a Championship after eliminating OKC, you can guarantee that Kevin would have met with the Lakers - with Jim, Mitch and no West or otherwise.

And I want to add something else, I know most of you are ready to hand the next 3 or 4 championships to the Warriors, but adding a great player to a great team does NOT always pan out as expected, consider this:

1) Adrian Dantley was a great player back in the days, in his third year he averaged 26.5 ppg and was 21. The Lakers got him and the rest of the NBA was thinking how unfair it was, well his first year with the Lakers he averaged 19ppg and the next season he was down to 17ppg. He simply did not fit and was traded, the next seven seasons he averaged just under 30ppg!

2) A 33 year old Charles Barkley was on the Rockets, after they had won back-to-back championships, he had averaged about 24ppg for the previous 10 years and once again the NBA looked at this as being unfair, Barkley's numbers dropped the next 4 years (he played only 62 games combined the last two) and they never reached the finals again.

3) Gary Peyton signed with the Lakers, after averaging 20ppg for the previous 11 years and his production dropped of but he still played another three years. He did not win a title with the Lakers...

4) A 39 year old Karl Malone signed with the Lakers, he had 17 out of his last 18 years he played 80 or more games, he had also averaged about 25ppg for the previous 17 years, his numbers dropped with the Lakers, he was injured and he retired, and could not help the Lakers win a title!

RECAP: Something could go sideways for the Warriors, with the signing of Durant, that's why they play the games...

I'm not "fawning" over anybody. I'm pointing out an obvious fact.

As for the league rescinding this signing. I don't see how they possibly could. The only reason they had room to mess with the CP3 trade was because of the Hornets ownership situation.

I guess you can cross off OKC as a destination now.....with KD gone, will Westbrook look to join up with another contender? They might have to move that franchise back to Seattle now...

Sure. That's the case with any contending team. The point is, if they don't run into unforeseen problems (which is the case in all of your examples), they are no doubt a perennial favorite for the near future. They were one horribly manipulated flagrant foul from winning the Finals 4-1. And they added a huge piece.

So yeah, if something goes wrong, sure it could fail to pan out. But as it stands, they are in the best position at the moment.

What a weak ass move. This is like Shaq joining the Championship Bulls.

Of course, these players are millenials, so what do you expect...

Shaq would have joined them if he could. Look at how he spent the last several years of his career chasing rings.

You guys are a bunch of the hypcrites. If lakers were in a same situation as the dubs and we added another superstar you all would be making parades plans already. Harsh reality is we are no longer a hot destination.

It's no different than artest joining us after 2009 after Kobe eliminated him. Give up for the dubs for building their basketball brand.

true but u can't hate the Warriors for forming a super team. This is not a Miami situation, all their core guys were home grown and drafted within the organization. You gotta respect that.

Weak move! I always knew Durant had no heart. It don't matter how many titles he wins with them because they will be tainted. It really does say a lot about what kind of player Durant is. Jump on the bandwagon because I can't lead a team. With only 1 basketball have fun sharing Kevin
