To be fair, Deng wasn't Mitch's first choice. Although Bazemore isn't doing too well right now either.
It's just bad luck IMO. We probably could have had H.Barnes if we waited for KD to make his decision. It's ironic that the year we don't wait for the big fish to make their decision is another year where we miss out on a good signing. |
Baze has looked much better the past five or so games. Might finally be finding his footing again. Maybe Deng can find his game again too, though it will be tougher since not that many minutes will be available at his by far best position of PF and he's older (with rumors swirling he is several years older than his listed age). Of course, it won't be tonight for Deng since he's out indefinitely with the wrist sprain. |

This dude doesn't bring ANYTHING to the starting line up. His playstyle doesn't fit with DLO/Randle, his defense isn't great, he doesn't draw defensive attention, he doesn't hit wide open shots at a respectable rate but he's 4th in minutes (more then DLO for some ridiculous reason) and he's still starting. He's the biggest problem in the starting lineup, he has shown NOTHING and we're over half way done with the season. |

Terrible signing. We should've just kept Travis Wear or Anthony Brown. The only silver lining is he won't hold back Ingram's development by taking minutes from him. |

Luol Deng had 17 against Washington and people still act like he doesn't do anything cause he misses some shots in the 2nd half.
He plays bad against Boston offensively and people say the same stuff.
The defense he plays that helps us defeat Denver in some momentum plays, gets vastly ignored cause he scored 7 points.
At this point people are just going to talk about Luol no matter what he does. He could average 10 for an entire month shooting 45% from the field and 35% from three and all it'd take is for him to struggle for 3 games for some to start back [expletive]ing and moaning about his contract. OH WAIT... THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. |

Lou Williams last season was public enemy #1 and now he's our best player. Hopefully this season was just a feeling out season for Deng and he has a similar comeback next season. |

people still act like Lou is, and act like 18 points off the bench on 44% shooting and 38% from the three point line just grows on trees.
We also have that at 7M a year, but all those same people that complain about Deng's lack of production/value of his contract are the same people trying to ship out Lou Williams who puts up 18/2/3 off the bench on 44% from the field and 38% from three for just 7M a year.
So [expletive] and moan about Deng's contract whenever he plays bad and saying he isn't playing up to what he's paid, but also [expletive] and moan about the guy who's playing above and beyond his contract with solid efficiency and 6th man of the year candidate.
Cause that makes sense... |

Not surprised Deng is starting to play a little better. Probably won't ever play up to his annual salary but there was always a vet premium in there. I expect by next season he will be up to average starter level.
On the Moz side, been a little concerned with how he's looked. wonder if he's totally healthy right now. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

I think Denys contract and performance are the most disappointing of the Deng/Moz signings, because he was still playing pretty well in Miami and he was a former all star. |

Good response by Deng last night when asked if coming off the bench bothered him. I will paraphrase, "Should it? I will do what is best for the team and best for the franchise." Real professional. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I don't. Unlike Moz who is almost completely useless, Deng can still do basic things, albeit at a pedestrian level. I think we can probably trade him for another overpaid mediocre player down the line that fits our needs better. We're just above the limit on guys who are 6' 9". |

List of biggest drop-offs in shooting this season from last

I was excited to get Luol. It's probably frustrating for everyone that he wore down so fast. _________________ Austin Reaves

That's the type of FAs we need to surround the youth with in the next couple of years, players who don't mind taking a step back for the betterment of the team |

Deng is probably our best defender (not saying much) but he looks pretty slow out there _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

My God 18 mil of cap space for nothing. Guy is just taking air in Staples. They have to charge him for that. At least next year will be the same. He cannot be worst than this. |

Will be interesting to see if Deng comes into training camp in better shape b/c he looks like toast right now. What happened to him finding his legs that one stretch? _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.'
