So he was gonna push himself this off-season to shut people up next year, pushed himself too hard and tore his pectoral and needed surgery, and now will miss the rest of the off-season. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I think that Loul Deng can have a much better season then the last one if he plays at the PF position but we have Randle and Nance. If you're talking about moving them up to the 5 then you're taking away from Zu, Black and Mozgov.
Zu,Randle and Nance are the only guys I think that should be guaranteed some type of role if they come back but it's interesting to see what the management is going to decide to do with Deng/Moz. We can either:
- play them to justify contracts and take away from younger players
- play them to boost trade value
- admit they suck and put them on the bench
- give them limited roles where they can be effective
With Mozgov, I think he's still going to be the best center on our roster not accounting for FAs and trades but Deng is going to be worse then Randle/Nance and potentially Zu. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe

Now only if he pushed himself last season, to show he was worth the big contract he was signed for, then he wouldn't have to shut anybody up. Maybe that's the new mentality; get way overpaid, do nothing for the first year, then in the offseason quell the "haters" by actually trying to play basketball and work on your fitness....then get injured and spend the rest of the offseason drinking mai tais and watching reruns of Green Acres... _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!

Like Ibaka it is likely that Deng is older than what we think. There is a lesson to be learned there. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Good Lord. There goes whatever little trade value he had left.
I don't think it's gonna have any affect, there is a lot of examples of players getting traded or signed in FA regardless of any injury.
I would bet that if a Melo trade happens and we need Dengs contract, it's not gonna make any difference.
Yeah but a healthy Deng can be sold as a perfect triangle player to new York. Now they'll consider his injury and age
What's the big deal? I read that he was gonna be ready way before TC starts, his time line to return to activity is in August.. I don't think it matters for anyone who trades for him it's not like he totally needs to workout or Improve his game, everyone knows who he is.

He actually needs to do both -- workout and get back his game. He came in out of shape and sucked most of last season. No one will trade anything of value for an old, broken down, regressing player. He needed this offseason to get back into the groove.

He blamed most of his struggles on the system and role as opposed to him admitting about being out of shape physically, like I said this doesn't change a thing in regards to a team needing to take on Dengs contract if we were to get someone like Melo or if the Bulls wanted him back.
They said he hurt it a few days ago weight lifting.
Then I was wrong. Thought it was a lingering injury from the regular season. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though."
To maintain cardiovascular condition the athlete should continue with prior aerobic training on recumbent or standard exercise cycle, but is asked not to perform aerobic exercises such as elliptical runners, crosscountry machines, or running/jogging on treadmills to decrease risk of injury in case of accidental loss of balance
