Well at least Deng is well rested and he still works on his game. His body should be fully recuperated from all of those seasons where he piled up the minutes. He should be ready to contribute somewhere. Hope we can say goodbye soon. |

I think the Lakers thought process with Deng is pretty simple. Until a trade of reasonable value crops up or he agrees to a buyout (absolutely no chance of that happening) then he'll sit.
Thing is every year that passes he becomes easier and easier to trade. We can get one max and keep Randle this off-season without getting rid of him in any way. The year after next he actually has some value on his own because he will be a sizeable expiring contract.
I absolutely agree with how the FO is playing this. If they need to they can ship him out with some picks but failing that just let him sit, don't waste assets getting rid of him before you need to. |

That would be a no brainer. BI, Kuzma, the first rounder and Deng would probably be what is required. Seems like a lot. |

Starting to change my preference for #25 to Hutchison, Evans, Porter, Robinson, or Smith if he drops. Would not be too mad if we could select Brown |

Can he start the Big 3 career now, or does he have to wait for the Lakers to cut officially him?

I'd be ok with letting BI go if we can get PG13 in free agency. Gonna be tough watching Kuz go though.
Would Spurs accept BI, JR and Deng for Kawhi?
Our team could look like this
Ball, PG, Kawhi, James, Lopez
Caruso, Hart, Zubac, Frye, Kuz
Travis, Thomas Bryant, ,... |

If we lose Brook Lopez, I wonder if the team would consider playing Deng at center? If both Lopez and Randle both go, it might be a way to use the older slower Deng. |

The unofficial Lakersground hobby is to come up with as many scenarios as possible that get Deng off the team sooner than two years. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

Here is a scenario. Crowdsource his salary. Find 1000 wealthy Lakers fans to pony up $36,000 each to bribe him to retire (or accept a complete buyout of his salary). Then he quits the Lakers and comes off the cap.
Easy-peasy! |

That is too much salary going back to the Spurs. |

The Deng situation comes down to this, does he want the money or does he want to play? I seriously doubt that he would want to sit an entire season again and not playing. That was the whole point, in my opinion of not playing him at all. He wouldn't except a buyout so, lets see how long can he go without playing before he gives in and except a buyout. He was willing to do it this past season because he had hoped that at some point, LA with give in an play him. They didn't. Now he knows that he will not play at all if he decides to stay and not except a buyout.
I believe he will give the Lakers I ore crack this summer to trade and if no trade is executed by July 1, he will except a buyout. |

How is that plan going? $18 mil a year for working out, helping to mentor young players and watching games? Plus per diem when on the road? Sign me up. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Jim & Mitch read a scam email saying there's a Prince who needs to transfer his funds to them, they just have to pay the tax on it, which happens to be 73m total or 18m/yr over 4 years. Which ever they see fit. 😂 |
