An MRI confirmed that Jose Calderón suffered a right hamstring strain; he is expected to be out for 2-4 weeks.

Time to Start Lou. I understand keeping the bench intact ideally but it'd be ridiculous to start Huertas and have a starting unit with no outside shooting at all.

I concur; with Calderon out we need to start Lou alongside Brandon in the next game.

Maybe time to test the idea that Clarkson will pass if he is officially a pg. They also still have Lou and Huertas and they've gone without a pg in some of the Ingram lineups. Calderon seemed like he was used as more of a shooter than a facilitator anyway.

That could work too.

Or just start the entire second unit.

Huertas is shooting 28% this year, his FT is 16% in games where he has played more than 10 minutes we are 0-5. He plays no defense, won't shoot (or gets blocked on) open 3's and if he plays with the starters...there isn't a knock down shooter among them to help him get assists and he can't create his own shot. Bottom line, if Huertas plays it's a loss.

Time to just shorten up the rotation

PG - JC
SG - Ingram
SF - Deng
PF - Randle
C - Mosgov

JC and Ingram play 32 minutes each
Lou rotates between 1 and 2 backup and plays 32 minutes
Deng plays 24 minutes at SF and Nance plays the other 24
Randle plays 36 at the PF and robinson picks up the slack
Mosgov plays 24 minutes at C and so does black.

9 man rotation and pray no one else gets injured for the next week or two.

On a side note, why the hell can't we keep our guards healthy, like ever, over the past 3-4 years. Is it that we are getting unathletic guys and trying to make them do too much? frustrating as hell.

I'd start Lou over JC right now. He's shown to be a more willing passer plus JC is in a slump right now.

Apparently according to some, you have "tell him he's a PG" or else he doesn't know that he's supposed to pass the ball.

If you put him in the starting lineup at "PG" but forget to "tell him he's a PG," watch out.

Totally agree about Huertas. I don't know how he and Metta got new contracts. They are both wasted roster spots.

What if we just started the second unit and brought the starters off the bench?

I think this could have been a seriously decent option last week, but if D Russ is coming back this week possibly, I don't think it's a good idea to change things around so much at this point.

Good idea. Let's charge the frontline with our cavalry.

Ask George Custer how that went.

I think id start Clarkson.

Lou just abuses 2nd units.

Regardless, Lou should be getting the most minutes.

Id like to see an uptick in Ingram's minutes too. He can play PG and thus lessen the amount of minutes we're playing Huertas who should be played at a minimum.

PG: Clarkson / Huertas
SG: Ingram / Lou
SF: Deng (with Ingram playing some 3)
PF: Randle / Nance
C: Mozgov / Black

Anyone know how many mins Calderon was getting? Can likely link to his new injury cause hamstring strains are usually from putting on to much pressure on your body.

The starter until Russell returns should be matchup driven. Tonight, if they start Mack you go with Marcelinho. If they start Exum you may go with Jordan.

Luke wanted to keep them.
