This will pay off. Look at how he puts up the Russian Wall when Favors attacks the basket. If this was Hibbert he would be on the floor. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Has he passed his physical yet? Please tell me he hasn't
Two scenarios:
A) The Lakers FO know something the general public doesn't; that Mozgov is one of the better non-star starting centers available on the market this year. They know the reasons behind his statistically down year and have done enough homework to know that it will not be a concern moving forward. Behind closed doors, Mozgov was a high priority target for a number of teams with significant competition, and the Lakers needed to act fast and overpay him slightly in order to get him.
If he passes his physical, that means that all of the unfounded concern trolling about his so-called bum knee being a permanent issue are bogus, and we can expect him to return to form as a solid two-way starting center.
B) Mitch and Jim are morons and signed a cripple who can't play anymore without doing any research, and need to be saved by the fact that his condition is literally so bad that he fails his physical.
If he fails his physical, then the deal is nixed. The FO is not only exposed as incompetent idiots who really have no idea what they're doing, they also now have to find a starting center with nobody left on the market.
Let's put aside which one is actually the case. Are you genuinely HOPING for the latter?
The lakers front office hasn't been right about much in the last 5 years.....outside of of Phillie, we are the only organization that has gotten worse every year for the last 5 years
Not right about Clarkson, Randle, DLO or Ingram? They are right much more often than you are here.
Outside of clarkson, the jury is still out on all those players

Hibbert finished 52nd. So we're good there, fam. I think.
I really want the front office to push for Gobert (RFA 2018). It would've been better suited for us to give Mozzy a 3 year deal and try for FA or trade in 2019 when Gobert becomes available. By then, our young core should be more mature and ready for contention in the west. _________________ Character Manchester United | Greatest European Moments Fabric of United - Our Belief

Doesn't mean anything. DWS is crap
Thanks for the insight. So I guess USG %(54th), TS % (26th), TRB % (58th) mean nothing to you as well...
Do you want me to tell you why DWS is crap? You can just ask; no reason to play coy. Look at Carlos Boozer's DWS numbers in Chitown. It's based mostly on how good your team defense is.
Or a clearer example: how about Scola? 1.9 DWS in 2184 min (0.04 DWS/48) in '12-'13 with Harden's Rockets. 2.8 DWS in 1399 min (0.096 DWS/48) in '13-'14 with the Pacers.
Even if you want to argue that Thibs and Vogel were better at hiding/ using their respective sieve, you can pick any other bad defender on a good team that you want and they'll be posting good DWS numbers too.
As for USG%, TS%, RBD%, they certainly mean nothing to me unless you're trying to make a point and contextualize them properly.
"...there was a time when the Israelites were wandering in the desert and all of a sudden, bread came down from heaven,” Pelinka said. “That’s kind of what today feels like for us to have KCP join.”
I'm incapable of performing the mental gymnastics required to view this move, specifically all the facets of the contract, as something great but I think he is an upgrade over Roy.
We can argue the degree of the upgrade but its an upgrade nonetheless. All we can do is just hope that that degree is significant

Coming to terms with the Mozzer. I hate his contract and think he is slow and plodding, but if Luke wanted him there must be a reason.
One thing I have noticed in players that Luke has gone after this year is that they all have really high basketball IQ's. I have read up on Mozzer and he does seem to have a great feel for the game and know where to be and how to play effectively within his limitations and the team system.
Same with Deng, Calderon and Huretas, those guys are all really smart.
Biyombo and Festus do not posses nearly as much game smarts even though they are far superior physically.
So we are going to have a team of Luke Waltons out there! I guess we know where this leaves Swaggy. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss
I have a good feeling about this signing. People are saying he is very smart and follows directions well. He definitely knows his role on this team and that is huge.
