don't think he's gonna miss significant time..but would you entertain offering Randle+Young for Nerlens Noel+couple picks from Philly?

I think we're better off with Deng at PF; No offense to Randle, but even though Deng is what 31? Still years ahead of Randle both offensively and defensivel; and let Ingram start at SF and develop from there.

Russell
JC
Ingram
Deng
Noel

We'll have a really good defensive frontcourt. If Russell and JC can pick up their slacks defensively..we'll be similar to the 0'4 pistons team in terms of defense.

Philly is looking to dump bigs, not add them. DLO or Clarkson might work.
Nevermind ...100

Something must be up if it's taking this long for the results, Groin injuries have always been minor and or at worse just a few weeks of recovery time.

Timofey Mozgov To Be Re-Evaluated Next Week

Quote:
After undergoing an MRI on Saturday, Mozgov will miss Russia’s next two games at its international tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia, and be re-evaluated sometime mid-next week, per Lakers spokesman John Black.

Timofey Mozgov has plenty to prove following big contract

Quote:
Last year, Mozgov only played 17.4 minutes per game, so let's look at per 36 numbers: 12.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.5 blocks. He had a -1.2 BPM and a 14.6 PER, which, for those of you less sabermetrically inclined, would indicate he was performing slightly below the average NBA player.

Mozgov just turned 30 and is coming off a year where he had a knee surgery that apparently was not all that successful. He has never played more than 26 minutes per game

10/9/2BPG will be ideal numbers for Mozgov. Anything more will be a bonus.

If he can put up those numbers for 3/4 years, while staying relatively healthy, then I think I could call that signing a success.

Unfortunately he's averaged less than 1 block per game over his career. However, that doesn't take account of how he alters shots and clogs the lanes.

That's really low, considering how good his rim protection stats are (I think the points saved stat likes him a lot)

Some guys are just good positional defenders without being renowned shot blockers. He may be in the Marc Gasol school of defense.

Whiteside has great block statistics, but not very good overall defensive numbers. Some players get out of position to try and get the blocks. I am fine if Mozzer does not have a lot of blocks as long as he contributes to good team defense.

There's a bell curve with blocks. Chasing too many of them actually compromises the defense.
