I'm not gonna try being a homer but the refs mistreatment of Moz has been well documented, I saw several situations of him being held when he was inside the paint, certainly he can play more better for sure, but the refs need him to play even if he's physical.

Yeah I see it too, he gets no respect from the Refs at all, but really why should he? Gotta play through it.

Luke's top point in post game today was the bigs weak screens and lack of rolling. There was no motion from them. Whether they were held, got frustrated with the grappling and pushing and getting no calls or what, they just quit that. Luke said it killed spacing and there was nothing to work with when guys got the ball.

He can't play through it if he's gonna get called for every foul, in fact that is apart of the reason his game throws off, and it seems like no one in the LA media brings it up but it's been a issue for the team cause he gets a bunch of awakward fouls or unwarranted calls every time the game starts.

Also that is probably why we want Noel who is known to set good screens if I'm not mistaken.

Noah has outperformed Mozgov by a small margin this year and the Knicks just announced that will be benching him.

WE don't have any replacements for Mozgov.

I dont mind using Zubac and starting him, but that is already signaling the tank.

ANy Center next to Randle will look bad defensively imo.

MozGoof was a horrible waste of money, it's sad that the Lakers "Braintrust" did NOT notice that the Cavs won DESPITE of him not BECAUSE of him, and now we are stuck with him until his contract runs out.

Black plays with MORE heart and hustle at a fraction of the cost.

MozGoof's numbers are horrible, you mean to tell me the Lakers couldn't lose by 40 points with Zubac starting at center? (LOL)

Chalk another great signing up to JIMBO...!

Did the FO consult with Luke at all signing Moz? Why did we spend big money on him minute one of free agency so he can play six minutes a game? Luke praised the Mozgov signing, iirc, but Byron also said he was a big Jeremy Lin fan before the season, too.

That's what I read. And I'm okay with that. The front office is responsible for paying the guy and deciding the years, Luke just told them who he wanted.

Considering it came at the time of signing, unlikely. And unlikely they hired Luke and then signed a guy he hated and made him go out and say he loved him, or Mozgov talk about Luke's recruiting call.

He needs to be coming off the bench. Zubac is the future.

Indictment of Luke, then. Even on the few occasions he's giving us something, he still sits. Horrible signing that looks worse with each passing game.

Sorry to pile on, but consider this:

In tonight's LOSS MosGoof ($16mil/yr) had 4 points and 1 rebound was completely dominated by some no-name center (making $1.3mil/yr) who had 29 points and 15 rebounds!

Ok the other center played a lot more minutes, but just what are the Lakers paying MosGoof for?

MosGoof is averaging a whopping 21.3 Minutes per game?! Considering a game is 48 minutes, that equates to about 37% - meaning he is NOT playing 63% of the time! That ranks him 25th in minutes among NBA Centers.

MosGoof is ranked 27th in Points/game among NBA Centers.

MosGoof is ranked 34th in Rebounds/game among NBA Centers

MosGoof is ranked 39th in Blocks/game among NBA Centers

Yet MosGoof is the 9th highest paid center in the NBA, ahead of Cousins, Tristan Thompson, Pau Gasol, etc...

And the Lakers are stuck with him for 3 years (after this season)!

If you think Jokic is a no name player, you really should stop commenting about the NBA period.

I'm surprised that Mozgov, the player the entire NBA was laughing at when the Lakers threw 60+ million at, is not very good. Oh well, at least he's only signed to a 4 year deal like Deng.

Mozgovs value is when he matches up against the physical centers, as you can see Jokic was to skilled and versatile on the offensive end, he can match up against Tyson Chandler... and the like. He was the reason we won early in the seasonagainst the Kings when he played good D on Cousins.

His value has been there but trashing him is just dumb

I think Mosgov takes way too much blame for the starters. His contract is horrendous no doubt but he's not nearly the biggest problem out there. Deng has been average on defense and bad on offense. Russell And Randle are limited offensively and terrible defensively. Nick is ok but it's not all on Mosgov.

It was obvious Zubac had the offensive skills to match a player like Moz rightaway after SL. We could have spent that money on Biyombo and got an athletic rim protector. Moz is average on offense and a below average defender.

But regardless, Luke wanting Mozgov still wasn't a reason to give the guy 4y/64M.
