Trudell was interviewing Moz after practice and noted that he had a lot of blood on his jersey. He asked him what happened and Moz told him that the Lakers had given him the jersey that way, they wanted to make him look tough. Dude has a great sense of humor, he is quickly becoming my favorite Laker.

Pretty funny. Mozgov is everything I thought Hibbert could have been. Just a tough guy who goes to work and never complain.

I never questioned Hibberts ability to play tough and I don't remember him ever complaining about how bad kobe was at defense in his last year.

hibbert was dealt a bad hand.

Mozgov is a better fit than hibbert due to his mobility but to say Hibbert didn't work and complained is not fair to the man IMO I saw nothing but professionalism from him in what must have a been a very difficult season to go through.

Agreed that Hibs was a total pro. How is doing this season without Byron?

Was the starter for a very good Hornets team in the East, played a few good games then got injured, Hes working his way back into the rotation now.

He did well on Aldridge... no idea why he wasn't guarding him at the end.

That missed layup that started like a 10-0 run for the Spurs was pretty big

Yeah I was gonna say. That easy 1 footer he blew just blew away all the momentum in the 3rd quarter and got ugly fast.

No coincidence that Mozgov needed DLO the most too.

I liked the idea of putting Randle and then Nance on him at the end, that will be their responsibility some day so some time against a very good offensive player is a very valuable learning experience.

The only thing that deters Aldridge is size. He can damn near shoot over Nance or Randle every single time. Mozgov had some excellent contests on him this game.

I doubt it will be their responsibility. When this new crop of young talented bigs really break out they're going to punish teams that try to employ small ball.

It'll be more of a team defense with everyone switching on defense and helping each other out almost instinctively. Right now it's not there, but hopefully they develop more comfort out on the floor with more experience. They do need to talk more on defense though. Clarkson on Aldridge should never have happened, especially that long of a time one on one.

Mozzy gives me a donut after I have been pimping him here?

Come on Mozzy, unleash the inner beast.

We need this guy playing rough and nasty.

Looked disengaged last night. His defense was not up to par.
I'm expecting more energy and better defense from him against OKC.
If not OKC bigs will have a field day because of their size advantage over our front line.

Mozgov has done well when he's around the basket at all times, but when the opposing big man can stretch the floor he's going to struggle. Wish we had an athletic, mobile big who can defend a big from the top of the key and still get back and defend the pnr.
