ESPYs: Justin Timberlake to Present Icon Award to Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning and Abby Wambach
For the first time, the show will honor three retiring athletes with the award.
Justin Timberlake is set to present the ESPY Awards' Icon Award to a trio of athletes at Wednesday night's ceremony.
For the first time, the awards show will honor three retiring athletes with the award: former Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant; Denver Broncos' recent Super Bowl-winning quarterback Peyton Manning; and Olympic gold medalist and professional soccer player Abby Wambach.
These athletes will be recognized "for the indelible mark they have made on the world of sports."
Bryant, Manning and Wambach will all be in attendance to accept the honor as part of a "special presentation" by Timberlake.
ABC will air the 2016 ESPYs live on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. WWE champion John Cena will serve as this year's host.
Awards will be handed out in categories including "Best Upset," "Best Championship Performance," "Best Coach/Manager" and more, spotlighting athletes from hockey, golf, action sports like surfing and snowboarding and those with disabilities, among others.
