You mean like this site? The Pau Gasol China 2008 Olympics ad thread was a prime example as it escalated quickly. Not to mention a long time member on this site has an ethnic slur in his username and nothing has ever been done about it. Sad since this site was founded by an Asian-American.

You should pm a mod. If it's indeed a slur, and it's someone that's active for awhile, that's BS.

I think the moderators do an okay job, but I highly doubt they'll do anything if they've allowed a user named A Mad Ch#####n on here for years. They may be ignorant about it or think it's trivial.

Ah, I don't know man, that's not necessarily racist imo. I could call myself a Mad Vietnamese Guy. Now if I wrote Crazy Ch*nk or something yeah...

I'm no expert on the rules of what epithets are "acceptable" or not, but it would seem to me that if black people can throw the N word around in prolific fashion, I think referring to oneself as "A Mad (insert slur here)" can't really fall under the racism banner. But I'm just a dumb white dude who doesn't care if I'm referred to as a cracker, or honky or whatever derisive term the kids are using these days and I've never had to live a life where such labels really had an impact on my life.

She had her wedding at a Trump golf course. There's a surprise. I was searching to see if she had an asian ex. Didn't find one.

Yeah, we have a few people with names that would be considered inflammatory if not held by people of the ethnicity. For the most part, unless it is highly offensive in any case, or creates controversy, we tend to leave it alone.

So if I change my name to a Mad Blackman or a Mad arman it would be OK?

Mad Vietnamese Guy is not even the same. You don't understand the historical context and derogatory connotation behind it. One would think after the Rick Kamla and ESPN Jeremy Lin incidents there'd be more awareness of the insensitivity, but there's still isn't much. There's no need to allow any ethnic slur to be permeating on the site.

Sounds like there is some controversy.

It was? There were a lot of Asian slurs here for awhile. C-hink, g-ook, n-ip, slant eyes were quite common language here.

I don't think it was from all the white members though. Latinos and Blacks also love to use these slurs in LA, Orange County and SoCal, from my experience.

No. we just call them all chinos.

Dear Everyone,

I did a song in front of a group of friends that was meant to be silly and self-deprecating, and I posted it last April and received comments from friends and strangers that it was funny.

It is obvious that I had bad judgment and didn’t understand that my attempt at humor would be seen as insensitive or mean-spirited, and I have removed the video from my channels.

I want to be a person who is positive and uplifting to others. Clearly in this instance, this has not been the case, and I have learned a valuable lesson.

I sincerely apologize to every person that has felt pain and offence because of me, and I ask their forgiveness.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Murphy

Laguna Hills is landlocked. Laguna Beach on the other hand...
