Clarkson was all rookie 1st team last year. All rookie 2nd team players from that year like Smart and Lavine made the select team.
I think Clarkson would too.
People can feel free to put a cap on Clarkson's potential. I did that when we first drafted him in the 2nd round. Since then I've learned my lesson.
He constantly exceeds expectations. And out of all the tape I've seen from all our young guys this offseason.
Clarkson's workouts have impressed me the most. Considering he was our best young guard last year. That's saying something.
I already expect more from Clarkson than our other young players. And he still impresses me.
I couldn't agree more. The notion that Clarkson wouldn't have made the select team is ridiculous. He's an outlier.
people stay disrespecting Clarkson.
Saying he didn't get picked for the select team is disrespecting him?
When's the last time we had a crop of young prospects like the ones we have assembled the last 3 years? Probably the mid 90's when we drafted Eddie, Nick and Kobe. It has been a minute. My excitement levels are at an all time high at the moment. Our future is looking brighter than ever. It's a new era. Everything looking lovely and fresh to def.
I can't remember a time like this with 4-5 talented possibilities.
Even when Kobe and Derek joined, Eddie Jones and Nick the Quick were already established players.
Maybe you do have to go back to the team when Eddie (#10) and Nick (excellent 2nd rounder by Logo) were drafted. We missed the playoffs (I believe) and signed some nice vets. And those two quickly became starters and all-stars not long after. Loved that team. The one I was brought up watching.
Kupchak Evaluates Lakers' Performances at USA Camp, Summer League
Quote:
For the past two weeks, the young core of the purple and gold have essentially been the Las Vegas Lakers.
Since arriving in Nevada on July 7, D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram have put their skills on display at both the Las Vegas Summer League and USA Basketball training camp, with Julius Randle joining them for the latter event.
Naturally, General Manager Mitch Kupchak oversaw his players’ performances during both weeks.

What did Pop say? I can't make it out.
He was mad DLO shot after 1 pass. Said 1 pass isn't the offense. Unless you're "wide ass open" . _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
