I was looking up a quote from John Wooden and found this page .. great man who needs more present day recognition.
"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."
"Consider the rights of others before your own feelings and the feelings of others before your own rights."
"Talent is God-given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful."
"The main ingredient of stardom is the rest of the team."

The Wizard of Westwood was the one of the greatest ...
And as far as his wisdom is concerned ... if LITERALLY anyone other than Bob Einstein is the source of a quote attributed to Coach Wooden, it's usually a gem worth taking seriously. So many young men learned to be men under Wooden's tutelage. But for the Super Dave Osborne variety, you would always be wise to consider the source ... |

If I could meet anyone in history, John Robert Wooden would be right up there with the likes of Benjamin Franklin, Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt. Among others I suppose. But the man was one of a kind. |
