Yes, I'm that desperate. Let's send LO and Slava to the Bricks for Starbury.
[I'd really prefer Franchise, but LB likes LO, so this could get done.]
If nothing else, there'd be another dependable scorer.
Yes, he's ball dominant, blah blah blah, but he can score, penetrate, finish and he's adequate defensively. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Might as well trade for SAR while you're at it in order to insure that this team never again sniffs the playoffs. |

I don't know about this one.
I'd prefer two solid players who try hard, rather than a washed up ballhog who thinks he's the best at his position when he's clearly not. (a la Houston... something about the Knicks spoiliing their players) |

NO. Please no.
I just heard about the fact that Marbury and Richardson had to be pulled apart in the locker room (I think it happened last week). Marbury is a serious cancer whose teams alway get better after he leaves and whose teammates always can't stand him. He would do more damage than good here. I'm not that desperate yet |

yeah because Starbury is such a winner. How come every team this dude goes to they end up in the lotto but once he leaves they flourish? |

Only if we get someone else with Marbury, like Frye, Nate Robinson or somebody that actually puts effort. Marbury has had problems with his coach and has been a headache to the team at times. Odom is a good player, listens to his coach and has not caused any problems since he left the Clippers. |

I'd be willing to try almost anything at this point.
Kobe's getting tired and frustrated, the team is banged up, and management is packing it in until '07. Should be an exciting year and ahalf. If it was for 62 and 81, the last year and a half would have been a total waste. |

Hahaaaaaaa no.
Marbury is nothing but bad news. He's everything that's wrong with today's point guards, all compressed into an angry little man with a huge dome. _________________ Dumbledore closed his eyes and slowly lowered his head before Kupchak. "Teach me," he whispered. |

No thanks, and not likely anyway. LO is being held for a bigger fish. Not that that will happen either..... _________________ "Why do you think bad things happen, anyway???" "So we have something good to look forward to."

No offense, but anyone who thinks this is a good idea is out of their mind insane. Have a look at this please:
Lamar Odom's salary:
2005-2006 - $11,465,500
2006-2007 - $12,489,000
2007-2008 - $13,524,000
2008-2009 - $14,559,000
Stephon Marbury's salary:
2005-2006 - $16,453,125
2006-2007 - $18,281,250
2007-2008 - $20,109,375
2008-2009 - $21,937,500
Lamar Odom's stats this year:
14 ppg 9.3 rpg 5.4 apg .453 FG% .333 3-pt%, 2.80 TO/game
Stephon Marbury's stats this year:
18.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 6.9 apg, .448 FG%, .260 3-pt%, 2.85 TO/game
--------------------------
You think the Lakers should pick up a guy who will be making more than $7 million more a year in 2009 than Odom is for a guy who scores 4 more points a game, gets 6 less rebounds, gets one more assist, who shoots worse in general and much worse from 3-pt range and who turns it over more than Odom does? You may want to factor this in as well: Lamar is 26, Stephon will be 29 in two weeks and that currently Stephon is only scoring 4 more ppg as the #1 option on his team. Really, what are some of you thinking? _________________ "People don't think it be like it is, but it do." - Oscar Gamble
Just a reminder folks: "a lot" is two words. So is "no one". |
