I have to say, I pretty much hang here exclusively and probably have had a jaded view of how Lakers fans react. However recently, I have also joined a Facebook group for Lakers fans. It is a very active group.
I have to say, that the quality of the posts here, is miles ahead of the quality there.
What I also like is how many dumb posts are NOT made here, that are made there routinely.
And, on top of that, you have a really stupid post made there and then people will argue all day long for it. Less ability to deal with people there as well. I am finding myself needing to block the idiots because they won't just make their point and move on, they will argue to the end of the earth and they are super rude while doing it.
There is around 20X more BS posts and ideas there than here, thanks to our mods, they can reign in the worst of the worst and keep things reasonable in content and tone.
I have always liked Lakersground, but the Facebook group has really given me pause to appreciate what this site has going for it!!

The Lakers FB page is repulsive. It quickly reminds me why everyone hates the Lakers fanbase at large.
Yeah the average IQ of Lakers Facebook page commentators is definitely below 80. They're the kind of people John Ireland is able to whip up with his "but I'll tell you more....when we come back" (bleep) that he steals from LG.
Been visiting the site off/on since 2005, the activity on here even in down times is pretty surprising and that's why I keep coming back. _________________ "It was tough," Kobe Bryant said. "But when it got really tough for me, I just checked myself in."

LG is very enjoyable most of the time. It feels like home.
I agree, LG is always the first place I go to for anything related to basketball and sometimes for things away from the court. Some very smart people are regulars on this site and I love to hear their opinions when something goes down. I remember when the Pau Gasol trade happened, this place was in total shock and awe and it was great. Love Lakersground!

and we know John Ireland checks the material here, don't know if he post or not. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

While we are on the topic, we've really wanted to keep pushing people to cut down on the Twitter like or hot take type posts here. LG is at its best when people take the time to post something thoughtful. So we are trying to be mindful of not just people trolling but also those just trying to get a rise out of people. This isn't Facebook Lakers discussion, this isn't Twitter ... we appreciate all you guys who take the time to elevate the discussion and keep it that way.

Best thing to come out of that:
Best thing was we got a new server because traffic went Nuts.

Man I was going nuts. I wish I were on LG then. Though I suppose everyone would have hated a whiny 14 year old.
You're comparing the site to an FB page, of course, LG would be better.
That being said, this site has been my go-to for Lakers discussion for years (long-time lurker). It just got the right mix of crazy posts, (bleep) posts and in-depth informative posts to entertain me. Says a lot about the variety of users here.
