I think the Warriors are currently the most hated team in the NBA. I don't think we're the most loved either (for the time being). _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

I don't think we're the most hated team. Not sincerely anyway.
I do think we're among the most hated on. Look no further than many of these ESPN "reporters". |

Yeah but the Celtics have not been great in the age of the internet and especially social media. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

We're kind of irrelevant right now. But we'll get back to being hated soon enough and looking forward to it! |

It's not even close. And it won't be close for a while. Kobe's departure will be the start of a slow decline in popularity, especially if we don't win a ring in the next 5 years. We've never gone long without a championship, so this might be the first time, other than the mid 90s, which was really only about 5 years before we got Shaq and Kobe. And we had a couple of years in Kobe's prime, but we were still playoffs in both cases. This is the first time where we are like the worst. (but we were tanking so we're really not as bad as the numbers).
Someone has that graphic showing how the Lakers are the most loved and hated team in all the states. This will remain for many years, but we don't want to end up like the yankees, winning a lot, best players, but not winning the rings. That to me is the realistic danger.
Think about it this way...look at these forums. No other team has a forum with this many people and this active. On other forums, you won't see so many people bashing kobe and unabashedly supporting duncan and lebron. so all that love/hate comes from the size of the fanbase. it's crickets most other places. |

We're irrelevant in basketball speak. But in popularity, we haven't skipped a beat. Folks trash us when we're good, and trash us when we're bad. Same old same old. |
