NBA sources say Clippers are actively exploring sites for new arena. One area that interests: Westside. Staples Ctr lase runs thru 2024.
please get out of Staples, but considering the immense land costs on the Westside and that City and State wont give them a penny, I see this as phase 1 of Balmers plan to move them to Seattle or Las Vegas, saying look we need our own arena we cant compete

Hard to imagine why he'd move the team, since that would significantly decrease the franchise's value. He just renewed the lease for Staples, so nothing will happen for almost a decade.

he personally would make a ton of money he could charge a premium price and not be the step child for tickets and Clippers have one of the worst TV deals in NBA he would get a ton of money for TV rights going back to Seattle
There aren't many locations on the westside I can think of unless they go down towards Inglewood. Could Ballmer end up buying the forum? Or building in that arena near the new Rams stadium?

Forum just had a major renovation a couple of years ago and are doing great business that wont happen.
if he asks the City or State for money they are going to laugh at him

You know... if they do find a site in West LA, it's a big competitive advantage. A lot of parents and people in general will avoid tackling traffic and just go to games that are closer. Heck, if I wasn't brought up as a Laker fan, I know I would. _________________ "He may say it's not you, it's him.... but it's really you."

Everything has a price. But I tend to agree with you. Highly unlikely.

he cant buy the Kings and AEG either as rumored, because AEG owns 30 % of the Lakers even he doesnt have that deep of pockets to pay the Buss kids 30% of 4 billion, probably a billion for the Kings and like another $8 Bil for rest of AEG holdings

I wonder if Lakers are looking at sites too, they are building that new training facility in El Segundo, they opened a team store close by to that and in social media rarely reference the Team LA store downtown anymore
and Lakers buyout would be like $15 and unlike the Clippers if Lakers asked for $ from city and state they would get it, hell I am sure AEG would build it if they asked
