Kwame and Cook look good playing together. I'd like to see more of this combination. Seems that Cooks play away from the basket, both drawing a big from the lane, as well as not clogging up the lane is giving Kwame a comfort zone to set up in. It's only one game, but this is what I thought would make Cook valuable to this team at the start of the season. When Cook is consistently hitting that outside shot, his big has to roll to him relieving all kinds of pressure from Kobe as well as freeing up things down on the block.

The problem is that Cook is extremely streaky. Once he gets cold again, you can forget about that idea.

Smush is streaky. Cook is consistent.

This is the second game in a row that Cook shot well. If he can continue, allot of the team can capitalize. He has quietly become the second option. Either that shows how well he's playing or it shows how poor this team is that even Cook can be the second option.

WOW.

NO COOK PLAYS WELL WITH LAMAR ODOM.

It is Lamar who sets up cook for midrange shots, not Kwame.

Kwame usually plays bad, but for this game he actually got his act together and played pretty good D and got some nice putbacks. Cook played great again but we'll see how long they can both keep this up. The Lakers really need these two guys to keep playing solid in order to have any chance at winning without Mihm.

Cook is shooting 52% on the year from the field, and 50% from the 3pt line. He has been shooting well all year.

His first year he was cold. Then he's been hot the past year-and-a-half. Streaky.

It is Kobe drawing triples that sets cook up. Cook can only hit open jumpers.

I agree and mihm gives you more of an offensive threat.

I agree too. Cook draws his big man outside. He spreads the floor. He's a good compliment to a low post player. He also plays well with Lamar, who can get him the ball. What is improving Cook's percentage is his quick release shot with great accuracy has defenders diving at him. Cook goes right around them for shots in the paint. His game has progressed. The first season, he was known for his 15-17 foot jumper, which works well in the triangle. The second season, Cook brought a deadly three point shot. The third season, he has made his outside shot even more deadly by adding quick moves to the basket. The result is a very efficient scorer. As for consistency, he scored 28 points in a game followed by a 27 point and 10 rebound effort. Cook produces when he gets minutes. Mihm's absense has moved Kwame to center. Cook has played well at PF.

Shooting over 50% has become rare for jump shooters. How many three point specialists are shooting 50% from that range? Now, consider the fact that Cook only gets 18.5mpg. Most shooters have a hard time keeping their rhythm if they don't play 30 minutes a night. Cook only had two games in November with over 30 minutes. He had 17 points and 7 rebounds in 39 minutes. He he 14 points and 7 rebounds in 34 minutes. In December Cook had only two games over 30 minutes. He had 19/8 and 11/7. In January, he had one game 19/3. Cook has two games over 30 minutes 28/3 and 27/10. Cook is fairly consistent when he gets minutes.
