Bad timing. More hostages have been taken. The chance of more ransom is my worry. IMO Obama opened a door he should not have.

Money owed I've not discounted. That's why I said bad timing.
I vaguely recall reading or hearing, shortly after the money was paid more hostages were taken. If that's in fact true the timing for the payment is poor.

| It was money held in an escrow account since 1979. It was their money. There probably wouldn't have been a nuclear deal at all if these past grievances weren't settled. |

US government doesn't negotiate with terrorist is a strong deterrence. I just hope this non-ransom money doesn't give other wanna be kidnappers any ideas |

That was a poke at Trump. He said he saw them unloading money from a plane. Must have been difficult for him to have to backtrack.
The video I linked gave a in-depth explanation of the payment. Pres is so laid back.
IMO it was planned by Iran to make it look like ransom, which is why I said poor timing. I now add poor planning.
