One of the best samples ever. This is the original. How they turned this into a hip hop standard I'll never know.

That MPC was a beast for chopping up samples then punching them back in. Add some drums, speed up the track, there you go. Now a real master course is how DJ Premier chopped up the original track to Mos Def's Mathematics. You can see the framework here.
but, how he came to this
is one of the great examples of chopping then rearranging while speeding up and slowing down your sample elements. Primo, of course, used more than just one sample source but to have the vision, or ear, to ultimately reach the finished product is simply amazing. *takes off hip hop nerd cap and sits down.

I feel like Larry can be our most impactful defender if he can continue to provide the help off the PnR's that he did during the Summer League.

GT is making August tolerable with something we can sink our teeth into. Love the breakdown on Nance's screens (but I'm a dork that way...spent a hour watching video on Mozgov screens a couple nights ago...who does this?). Randle is going to have to step it up in that regard with Nance elevating his game.

Speaking about an amazing sample, my mind was blown when I heard how this sample was used. I'm amazed someone could have the ear for that.

Yeah, didn't want to create yet another LFR thread, but that's my first podcast. Lots of fun.

No doubt. I always learn something new. Gotta give props to anyone who TAKES THE TIME to drop some knowledge. Glad he's getting something out of it going forward. Daps.

Teach your son to rap while he's in a game. Drop bars while droppin dimes.

Just listened to it, GT did him justice. Just said he has a ton of talent, but has the most to learn about BBall, which Randle himself has said.

I think the hosts were a bit hung up on him being "hardwired" or something into the wrong mindset. I don't agree with that theory so no worries to me
