NBPA Awards
MVP: Stephen Curry
Toughest to Guard: Stephen Curry
Coach You Most Like to Play For: Gregg Popovich
Best Off the Bench: Jamal Crawford
Best Defender: Kawhi Leonard
Best Homecourt Advantage: Golden State Warriors / Oracle Arena
Best Dressed: Russell Westbrook
Best Rookie: Karl-Anthony Towns
Global Impact: Kobe Bryant
Most Influential Veteran: Tim Duncan
Player You Wish Was on Your Team: LeBron James
Best Social Media Follow: LeBron James
Clutch Performer: Stephen Curry
Best Comeback Player: Paul George
And then Teammate of the Year award winners for each franchise ... for the Lakers, Brandon Bass. Former Lakers Trevor Ariza (Houston) and Ronnie Price (Phoenix) also received the same recognition on their current teams.
FFS, have these awards already lost their steam? Two seasons and a wrap? |

They never had much steam. Last year lots of players (including winners) didn't show for the inaugural event, so now they don't even have a ceremony.
Basically, they just gave the awards to the same people the real voters did, and tossed in a bunch of who cares stuff like best social media following. |

Well, this changes everything. I was so anti mortgaging the future for him, but now I dunno.. I'm torn. How often do you get a chance to add the best dressed player to your team? I mean what's Ingram's ceiling in fashion? Can he rock the back-pack, big eye-glasses, Steve Urkel look in a few years? Or, can Ingram surprise us immediately this year? If I don't see at least a back-pack in a post game interview by December, then I think we'll have to deal him for Westbrook. |

I think the players union made a mistake by mixing real awards based on the past season (MVP,, rookie, defender); lifetime achieve awards; and silly People's Choice junk.
It's too trivial and redundant, so no pays any attention, particularly long after the finals. |
