Correct me if I'm wrong but unless the teams played in the NBA Finals, most teams don't travel far for opening night games. So they end up playing somebody from their division, maybe conference. |

It would be cool if we faced New York... when was the last time we faced them in the opener? |

Highly doubtful, since they are in opposite sides of the country. As someone mentioned, it will most likely be a western conference team |

You are right..
Maybe with Adam Silver at the helm he might change the schedule a lil bit. |

For once I would like the Lakers to open the season on the road. Lakers @ T-Wolves I'm calling it. |

This, and I am guessing the Sixers because in the eyes of the NBA, DLO is done and is a loser, while Towns is their hero. They will NOT want to legitimize DLO by showcasing against the NEW superstar of the NBA. On the other hand, they think that Simmons will smoke Ingram at this point, so they will show that one.
What ever they can so to denigrate our team, is what they are going to do! _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

For Summer League, Simmons vs Ingram had some appeal.
For the regular season, probably not so much for a broadcast to a huge national audience.
Without Kobe, the number of national broadcasts for the Lakers might dip some. |

We could be getting Memphis as the first opponent, since we never played against them in the season opener. |

I have a feeling it will be tthe 76ers. NBA loves that 1st pick vs 2nd pick drama. |

We usually play at home then the next day on the road. I'll say Clippers at Lakers then Lakers at Warriors, Blazers, or Suns |

I think last year only teams to play a team from the other conference their opening game was memphis and Utah. However, their opponents both played on opening night of the NBA. |

speculation, much like all your posts
The LA Kings play at Staples on the 27th and there is a tennis event at Staples on the 29th so I am speculating since we always open at home, it will be the 26th |
