Cook is alright. He reminds me of Horry. Not saying he's anywhere near Horry though. People have misunderstood this before.

Cook don't deserve crap!!! I still hate him!!
But even I must admit, I am VERY impressed. His shooting is just the kind of thing that could give Kobe the help to get deep in the playoffs.

EXACTLY!!! Stupid Mitch apologists!!! Can't you see that these guys suck and have no heart? I mean, Lamar missed TWO games with an injury and Cook is missing 48.2% of his Field Goals!!!

Mitch's draft doesn't bother me but his trades do, if he can redeem himself as a GM then he should do a blockbuster trade thats the only way people are gonna forget him. |

Cook is an incredible shooter with a very quick release. He's shooting 50% and almost all of his shots are mid to long range. He really worked on his shooting. Why can't Odom do the same?

Cook has had 3 good games. The Lakers have been an up and down team the whole year. Overall, Mitch sucks. But GOOO LAKERS

i dont understand why we don't run more pick and rolls w/ kobe and cook. wolf u got any insight on that? it seems like we go away from that for very long stretches at times. we should run it like every other play. i hate when i see cook on the opposite side as the ball. he is our most consistent spot up shooter.

Are you SURE you're watching the same Brian Cook??? He's scored in double figures 15 times this year primarily OFF THE BENCH. He worked his A** off this offseason to become a better player. Give him credit and Mitch credit for picking him. |

I think I can answer that. In Phil's first tenure, I can remember many of us screaming for Phil's head, because he never used Kobe/Shaq pick and rolls.
THEN, come playoff time, thigns would get tight, then the Kobe/Shaq P&R would be ran 3-4 straight possessions and we'd suddenly be up 10-12 points.

That pick and "pop" play was Rudy's favorite with Cookie. It was what made Cook "breakout" as a scorer last season and I made a thread telling all the Cookie haters to kiss his butt (and I admit i went a little far but the dude was getting piled on like nobodies buisness)
I'm not sure if Cook is a Laker beyond 2007, but I think he's atleast showing us why the Lakers drafted him.
He is a very good spot shooter for the Triangle.
If only his defense was worth a lick ..... |
