This guy is a special ball player and has the intangibles that compliment our core. Just adding him will get us 2-5 games this year imo.

When I hear that the lakers are deciding between metta and zach it makes
me wanna elbow someone in the back of their head.
(I am also a huge MWP fan)

Seriously this guy is the real deal. Does he have issues I am unaware of?

.................or is this another one if Jimmy's no calls?

I'd assume there's no real rush right now. There's a couple of months before camp starts. If they've got designs on signing him I'd guess it'll happen sometime in September. Then again the only thing I know is I don't know (bleep) so take this with less than a grain of salt.

I'd guess they feel like there is more of an opening for little men than big men on the current roster. I liked what Auguste showed in the SPL but they already have: Mozgov, Black, Zubac, Randle, Nance, Deng who can man the positions that he can play.

If it will happen (not sure it will), it will take place after the pre-season.
Hopefully he'll get the invitation to join the camp.
Everything else is a reach as of now.

Too early to speculate whether he'll be signed or not. At the very least, I'm sure he'll get a training camp invite. I'm rooting for him because he sets really good screens and hustles his ass off on every possession. The latter is something you can't really teach. Reminds me a bit of Joakim Noah.

I like Auguste but he's not winning us 2-5 games.

I like him, but frankly he's more heart and hustle than skill.

How would he add 2-5 wins, when even if he were signed, which I'd applaud, he'd barely get any playing time?

I liked Auguste's play in SPL, particularly the way he hustled and scrapped for possessions. That said, we already have Mosgov, Black, Zublocka, Nance, Randle and Deng for bigs, so it's a stretch to say Auguste is bringing us x number of extra wins.

I'm fairly convinced the Lakers will make the right move, which is to invite Auguste to training camp, not sign him up right now and shut off a roster spot for anyone else who looks promising in preseason.

He is so special that he went undrafted. If it's between him and mwp, I pick mwp

The Lakers will most likely fill the roster with a veteran player.

Auguste can play in the D League and show his worth the follow year.

It's fair to say we have, at least, 12 players better than Auguste in the roster. If he's able to win 2-5 extra games, it's also fair to consider those 12 players are able to win the same amount or more. Which leads to the conclusion that Lakers are winning around 60 (12x5) games next season.

Sorry, I can't see a 3rd string player and rookie making that much of a difference. Still, I'd like to see him at training camp.

We will see how he does in camp. The one thing I am happy about this year is that we have an intelligent coaching staff who will honestly evaluate players. If Auguste fits in our system and plays well he will have a fair shot to be our 15'th man!

We have been hit by the injury bug the past couple of seasons, so it never hurts to have a big who can step in.

We are quite deep at center.

I'd be more interested in inviting a defensive minded combo guard to camp.
