I think that this upcoming season will be similar to the 06-07 season where we went 42-40 and the next year we were in the Finals, if we can come close to 40-42 wins and make the playoffs within the next two years, we can look to sign some superstar to get us back into the Finals

Lakers are not the Lakers anymore since Jerry Buss passed. To the FA's, i would think, the new ownership has to prove they can win before the top FA's come here, plain and simple. Its the same team but the its not the same brand as before.

We got to win with this group. Just getting close to a 500 record (35 wins+), at least, would cause top FA's to give us a more serious look. They want to come here, they just need to see that upward trajectory trend by us again. I think we have the team and coach that can get the 35+ wins this season.

Different era of basketball than when Buss / West were running the show, it was a much different landscape. Much like you can not compare players from different era's, same thing with ownership.
