Alright so I was packing to go out of town for a week and I had all these Laker jerseys in my bag. Two Kobe's, a Clarkson, Randle, Russell, Ingram, and Shaq. I thought it was ridiculous to take all those and was thinking of even not taking any. I couldn't do it. There's no way in hell I could go a week without wearing a Lakers jersey. I couldn't bring myself to do it. Not planning on wearing all them, but I just had to pack them.
What's something unreasonable I guess you could say that exemplifies your fandom for the Lakers? _________________ #CowboysNation

Paying 200 bucks a year for Leauge pass.
Faking illness at work to catch a 4:30 tip off.
Arranging travel and vacations based on the Lakers schedule.
Reading LG too much. |

- Closing in on 50 years.
- can count missed games in the past 10 years on one hand ( including none the past two. Became a silly point of personal pride for some stupid reason)
- spend way too much time checking in here every day. |

Most of the typical ones mentioned of the favorite players or moments. But for me personally:
- in middle school my class met the Lakers at the Forum. Shot baskets with West and Goodrich.
- going to games with my Dad late in the 33 game win streak. Actually have an autographed ball from one of the games near the end of it.
- In the military getting up in the middle of the night to watch the games while overseas.
- getting into actual punches thrown fights with Celtics fans during those same military years.
- Magic and Kareem
- Young Kobe
- anything Chick. I miss that man! |

damn yo. that's awesome. favorite post of the year so far for me. How crazy was the 33 streak at the time? The one I remember is the rockets unexpected streak with tmac, and it didn't seem like that big of a deal because nobody expected them to do well in the playoffs. But in the lakers case, they won the ring so the streak was probably more impressive. |

Been a fan for 30 years and didn't miss one game last season (our worst in history) but I still don't think I'm "die hard". Its just entertainment and stress relief for me, plus I love basketball. |

that's as die hard as it gets. anyone who watches all the games is as die hard as it gets. a lot of people (especially now) just watch highlights and box scores. |

Any fan that has an autographed Von Wafer card signed at the Pyramid is die hard.
Being almost beat up in Bakersfield by an injured Kwame Brown is die hard...just fyi, if you see Kwame in a crowd and yell "everyone duck, he's got a cake" it's not going to go over well.
Screaming at a rookie Bynum to box out (same Pyramid) and screaming at the ref's...only to be told by an old bald dude sitting next to mom named Joey Crawford...to "shut up kid you're ruining my game"....
Aaah the good old days of summer.
Knowing the Pyramid in Long Beach and Rabo Bank Arena in Bakersfield is die hard. |

When you can literally steal your mom's phone and call Brian Shaw...
(I'd never ever do that so don't ask )

When you see Bobby Jackson and Mike Bibby at a D-league game in Santa Cruz and you know them but they know your lakers fans and you're sitting behind the Lakers bench and the don't say hello because Vlade is there...

I can't decide which was worse.
Byron Scott or Tierre Brown/Chucky Atkins/Smush Parker in successive years. |

I don't own jerseys for super dumb, macho personal reasons, but I do have various lakers attire. I watch every game including summer league and preseason(record a lot and ff thru commercials), I follow the offseason as much as the regular season, I am constantly scouring the Internet for videos, rumors, news, interviews, anything lakers. Im currently up watching Nance tape. I feel something of mine far more valuable than money is invested into the lakers, like a piece of who I am. |
