Bobroczky has excellent shooting, passing, and shot blocking skills, but what the Romanian lacks are any traces at all of muscle on his 184-pound frame. He runs awkwardly, and tires easily.
That's why the Rome academy where Bobroczky is based — the same youth club that produced former Toronto Raptors No. 1 draft pick Andrea Bargnani — has decided to dedicate this season exclusively to fitness and strength.
It's painful watching him run... if you can even call it that. Though I imagine that method is less stressful on his knees.
I wonder if he runs that way because running normally would cause joint pain, or if it's just because he's so freaking weak that he would completely tire out trying to run.
He seriously looks like he's going to break. I'm a little scared for him.
You'd think that he'd get some sort of medical clearance for steroids.
He's currently 185 pounds, but that was around last year, so if his body grows as it should as he gets 16,17,18 it should even out more, it seems like they have him on a high calorie diet so that stuff like that doesn't happen.
He also practices with the pros too apparently from time to time.
"Since he is in Italy, the recipe is simple: pasta, pasta and more pasta.
Following an individual nutrition plan created for him by specialists at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, Bobroczky is eating more than two pounds of pasta per day.
"We're not interested in basketball right now. The top priority is his health," Stellazzurra Basketball Academy general manager Giacomo Rossi said in a recent interview with The Associated Press. "For someone with his physical stature, the usual practice sessions are just not enough. He needs individual attention."
Having helped Stellazzurra to the under-15 national title in Italy last season, Bobroczky is sitting this season out and playing in only select tournaments.
"We've got to make sure that five years from now not only can he play basketball but that he's also a fairly normal person," Rossi said. "This is going to be a long and difficult season for him but it's also going to be the most important season of his life. Because every day, all day, he's following an individual project created specifically for him with a staff of physicians."

If his body has held up by the time he's 20 we'll likely hear his name more.

I don't really get the whole pasta diet thing if they want him to gain muscle.
Have him eat like a pro bodybuilder. Protein powder galore.
He tires easily, and lacks both muscle mass and body fat. Pasta is a nice way to load up on carbs, which is what his body needs at this point in his development. If he undertakes a weight-training regimen (something he should do at around age 15) then he should also go heavy on the protein at that point in time.
And I agree with you, his knees are a major concern. When he does weight training and protein supplements, he should concentrate on his lower body. His family should also look into surgery, as he probably has a pituitary gland disorder. He's not Shaq; he doesn't look like he has a strong core, he isn't muscular, he's not fluid and I wonder about how his ligaments are going to support his tortured movements. He looks like he's a major knee surgery waiting to happen.

Couldn't stop laughing while watching that youtube video.
Don't know what's funnier. His run or his unfair height advantage. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
