My nephew likes it, and thus I'm forced to finish his leftovers whenever I take him there. It's not bad, I've had worse. I'm not pretending that I'm eating authentic Chinese food. I probably wouldn't even like authentic Chinese food. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid!

Panda is to Chinese food what McDonalds is to burgers. A decent stand in when it's not convenient to go get the real thing and you need to grab a bite quickly. _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. And this is why there is always one on a college campus or next to one. When you are in a hurry and have few choices, you don't care.
It's the taco bell of chinese food, catered to american palate. I have no problem with it, wouldn't mind owning a franchise or two myself. They actually do pretty well in airports, longests line in food court (anecdotal)
Good american food that Purists get in a snit about because it's not authentic Chinese.
I don't think anybody enters a Panda Express expecting an authentic Chinese meal. I think most objections come from receiving a plate filled to the brim with heaps of bargain basement chicken slathered in sugar slime. But if you like it, you win! _________________ 14-5-3-12

Since you are this forum's Jordan Schlansky ( ), I'm picturing you typing that while drinking the finest French Press coffee, resulting from a multi-step process involving the right temperature and air pressure, while eating a sandwich made with the finest grass-fed pastrami imported from New Zealand, tomatoes imported from Tuscany and transported by an exclusive fleet of ships that maintain the optimal temperature to keep them fresh, and bread made from the finest grain from the black soil region of Ukraine harvested by authentic farming equipment from the 17th century. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid!

You forgot the monocle, but other than that this is pretty accurate.
Really though I do believe if you like it, you win. Same with books or movies or whatever. I can't convince someone they don't like Panda Express if they do, nor am I interested in convincing them of that in the first place. I've found a lot of people that like kinda cheap, nasty things attach their identity to them and feel threatened if someone doesn't like it. I'm not here to take anyone's Panda Express or diminish your experience. I'm just here to make diarrhea jokes. _________________ 14-5-3-12
i rarely go to Panda Express but honestly if you like Americanized Orange Chicken there are not many places that really do it better.
I despise their dried out chow mein that's 50% celery though
lol, I went to all of them during my time in Orlando. And they were a long drive with lots of toll fares paid from where I lived. Most of the "good" ones are asian fusion or also serve thai/japanese/vietnamese food which is where their quality is better. Not to mention for a cheap place like Florida, the prices were outrageous compared to places in San Gabriel, etc. Whenever you see General Tso's Chicken on the menu, you're not getting authentic food. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif http://bartsblackboard.com/files/2009/11/The-Simpsons-05x18-Burns-Heir.jpg
