Interesting that younger generations born in America are obsessed with saying it's unauthentic Chinese while their parents/grandparents are relatively okay with it.

My dad was ok with it but considering he grew up poor and still had the if it's half edible, it's decent mentality, that's probably why.

Off topic. OMG. I just figured out why McChicken is trending. Some things you just can't un-see.

If you decide to google what I'm talking about, don't to it at work or school. Its NSFW. Heck it's NSFLife.

Some people just love McChicken's. Like literally, they love them.

Same way I feel about Baja Fresh or any other commercial, ethnic food chains. I wouldn't mind eating it if there was nothing else. It's okay. I don't find it "disgusting" like food snobs do. It's definitely not my first choice but meh, I don't mind it once in a while.

Yeah, on top of everything else, it gave me diarrhea yesterday.

It's finally occurring to me that it's really just low quality meat covered in globs of sugar. I think I might have it one more time in the distant future and that might be the last time.

compared to other similarly priced fast food Chinese its not bad. I think their orange chicken is above par but still too sweet and syrupy. Also hate how their chow mein is like 40% celery + cabbage

If your ancestors grew up during the cultural revolution and wondered if they might live until the next meal, Panda Express might just be fine.

I haven't been back since I tried it last August. Been almost a year and this thread reminded me how bad it was.

Panda Express was engineered for the American consumer. Its not really a surprise most Asians don't like it as its not really food they grew up eating. Its a derivative of Chinese food.

I usually only get the teriyaki chicken at panda. Everything else has that sickly sweet glaze on it that doesn't sit well with me.

I *used* to think it was great though. Not sure what changed.

Your tastes probably.
Most children and young adults can handle eating sugar compared to adults.

I used to go there all the time. There's one right next to Angel Stadium that's within walking distance for me. Then I discovered this Indian food place a couple of miles away where I just get rice with two chicken dishes and naan. It blows Panda out of the water; Indian food just has so much more depth of flavor and nuance.

But yeah, if you want some fast food, it's not that bad. I do like their orange chicken. I agree about their chow mein not having enough noodles in it, which is why I usually just get their rice.

The company I work for is owned by an Indian family and half of the employees are Indian. I've fallen in love with their food. It's just so damn good.

Couldn't tell you as I don't remember the names of anything except chicken tikka masala and the naan.

Is your curry mixture more light yellowish or darker and brownish?
