The Kings are the Kings - and Koufos is eh - McLemore eh - and Rudy Gay tends to end up on teams that simply don't win _________________ Salary Cap Strategist and Columnist at Bleacher Report and on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/EricPincus |

Point taken.
I also appreciate you for responding on other subjects in this thread besides the Yi contract.
- Would you be completely shocked if Young is still on the roster on opening night? Seems like FO is deciding if they should give him a look and see if he adds anything to the team. |

I'm rarely shocked by anything in the NBA - sometimes - but Lakers really want to move Young - but they want to do it the way they think is right - preferring trade to get him off their books altogether _________________ Salary Cap Strategist and Columnist at Bleacher Report and on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/EricPincus |

Can you list the potential teams who might trade for Young? Seems very tiny or none at all. |

But even so, Westbrook would probably be a UFA in 2018, barring a drastic CBA overhaul no? I can't see another UFA max coming to a team that would be lucky to win 35 and probably will win closer to 25 --- at least Westbrook and George (if he doesn't restructure) have the LA ties.
You've gotta wonder if getting a legitimately valuable asset like a first rounder would be worth giving up hopes for a max, given the team has been spurned by max free agents for the four offseasons prior to the one in question. By 2018 the team is hopefully ascendant with 40 wins, if not (ideally) in the playoffs, so it would be more realistic to aim for a max UFA then. |
