|
|
"Several teams, including the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers, have recently contacted the Knicks about Frye, according to two executives in the league who were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about other teams."
-from NYTimes
Um, is this old news? serious? who would they trade for frye? odom?
hmm... |

As I proposed in an older thread, we should move Odom for Frye and Robinson (you'd have to throw in other players to make the salaries work). Would be a great move for the future. _________________ -

No thanks. Unless we get Frye for cheap (a la Devean George or Slava Medvedenko), I don't care to see him in a Laker uniform. The guy isn't as good as some make him out to be. |

Frye is a rookie on a rookie contract.
Frye and Rose for ODOM?
We ain't giving them Bynum.
The rest of they guys with rookie deals or low salries suck.
They would not take Kwame.
I don't see any other realistic alternative. |

Brown doesn't like rookies either, but he plays Frye. |

The only way we get Frye for Devean or Slava is if Mitch has pictures of Isiah sexaully harassing some women, oh wait, that's not too far fetch actually. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

I agree with you. It's far fetched, but I doubt that the Lakers are planning to give up Odom for Frye and any of the exorbitant contracts of the Knicks unless Mitch truly is asking to get fired. |

NestT, that would be a great trade.
By the way, didn't Phil want Frye in the draft? With Bynum, Mihm, Turiaf, Frye, and even Kwame, we'd have a nice young core up front. _________________ -

Frye is a rich-man's Brian Cook! I don't want another soft 6'10" player! |

I thought the future of the Knicks was the under 25 year old center they signed to a MASSIVE contract and gave up a #1 pick for.
And Jerome James and his max MLE deal was the permanent back-up center. |

Knicks aren't that dumb. They won't give up Frye without adequate compensation. I wouldn't mind getting Frye for cheap but he's not worth an expensive trade. He's a good scorer, but not that good on the boards. |

Any talk of trading Odom for Frye is just plain haterism.
Please. |

Now imagine them on defense and rebounding. |

Robinson would be good for us, he's quick enough to guard 1s and he can shoot the 3 as well as drive. I read this morning that they're now willing to move Lee, Robinson, or Ariza, but not Frye.
We could move Odom for Mo Taylor (almost $10mil. expiring after next year) and any 2 of the three guys mentioned above.
Taylor would actually be very good offensively in the tri while freeing up an extra max slot in '07. (approx. 25 mil. under the cap in '07). |

exactly. Frye has a nice mid-range jumper, but is not a very good rebounder at all. If you could get him for cheap. That would be nice.
No way for Lamar odom.We need Lamar to initiate the offense, and grab those 13 rebounds like tonight. |

Jalen Rose cannot be traded (two month moratorium, which extends past the trade deadline), unless he's dealt singularly |

yea lets throw away the season. Heck no with that deal.
Lamar is underated. PPL are obsessed with scoring and dont look at the simple things in basketball.
1. rebounding
2. ability to find the open man out of double teams.
3 initiate the offense so Kobe can play without the ball
these are Lamars strengths. We need to keep that. |

I could see Isiah dealing Frye. The Knicks are in disarray, and the team has simply quit on Larry Brown. Brown is pointing at Isiah (personnel), and Isiah is pointing back at Larry. Not only is "mortgaging the future" a possibility, it has been a part of Isiah's Daily To Do List since taking over.
Any Laker rumor seems unrealistic, and may have been leaked by Isiah's cronies to drum up interest in Frye. |
