He should practice layups right handed while he recovers. |

Luke Walton says that Julius Randle (hand) is already cleared to start shooting. He will be re-evaluated in about two weeks.

Can I ask what in the world they need to evaluate on a cut finger? This seems like a precaution thing... |

But the cut is on his right hand. Sort of wish the laceration was on his left (shooting) hand so he could be like Kobe when he broke his right wrist rookie year and just did everything with his left. _________________ "It doesn't matter how hard you try because you can always try as hard as you want, but its how smart you play"-Phil Jackson advice to Kobe

Right now getting better at shooting is more important then learning how to use his right more. |

Right? I'm guessing it must've been a fairly deep cut. I use my hands for my work too and I cut my finger the other week and it certainly didn't require an an evaluation LOL. But what do I know of the world of the professional athlete? |

LOL.
Im guessing the training staff is just being extra precautious with players cause they wanna make sure they are healthy. |

Did it require 7 stitches? I guess with a cut the main thing they need to evaluate is infection. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Quote: | Randle, a third-year power forward, cut his right hand during a workout Monday. He was driving toward the basket when a teammate reached in and sliced open the webbing between his middle and ring fingers, Walton said.
The wound required seven stitches and Randle wore a bandage on the hand Wednesday, but Walton said he was cleared to shoot later in the day. |

Yeah, I was just joking. Hopefully he'll get better soon so he can work on his off hand finishing. |

Hence my statement that "it must have been a deep cut"
But in answer to your snarktion, this cut no stitches, but yes I've had 2 previous cuts that required stitches |

Makes no sense. Only thing I can think of is that he was dunking and cut his finger on the rim? |
He talked about it on TWC sportsnet, somehow he did it hitting his hand against his own leg. Same way he broke his other leg in his first regular season game.

Reminds me of that time Kobe cut his hand "moving boxes":
Quote: | The Lakers said Bryant needed nine to 10 stitches to close the
wound. He was injured Thursday night when he accidentally put his
hand through a glass window while trying to move boxes in his
garage.
"I'm doing something where I'm leaning on a window. It doesn't
hold me up. I guess I'm too strong," Bryant said. "Hand went
through and I cut myself."
Bryant said he tried to stop the bleeding, rinsed his finger off
and put peroxide on it to prevent infection. His wife, Vanessa, was
"pretty grossed out. She doesn't like seeing blood," he said,
laughing. |

Randle is a freight train to opponents and himself. When he learns to control that... Wow. |

I don't have any real excitement about Randle. I think it's because things have been so quiet about him.
I do expect him to do well this season, and I do believe him when he says he's been working on his game. But I guess after hearing things about the other young guys, the absence of cool Randle news has made my excitement about his game simmer. |
