Iowa paid them a half million dollars to come spank them.

Wow, this team is bad...

A lot of people don't recognize how devastating it is to lose scholarships.

I'm a huge Ohio State fan, but Bama has the title. I think they have won 4 titles in 8 years or something crazy. I think OSU is #2 right now as the best overall program.

I like that there is so much talent out there that smaller schools can now compete with the majors. San Diego State, who have been nothing without the name Marshall Faulk, destroyed Cal. ND State is beating up on Iowa. Coaching football myself, I am usually at the field most of Saturdays so I don't get to see many games other than West Coast games that are on after 8 pm. I am excited that one of my former players is being recruited by Cal Poly, UC Davis and BYU. He plays for Ventura High and they are on Prime Ticket tomorrow night against Hart if anyone is home and bored.

I think its the opposite...its a shocker when a smaller school defeats a big name program. But thats because there are a lot less college football programs around the country just because the costs to maintain a football program is so expensive nowadays. A lot of the smaller state schools have disbanded their football programs because they can't afford to pay the salaries, scholarships, and travel money to compete with the big names. Title IX also played a role as well.

I think Ohio State has overtook Bama this year. Prior to this year I would say Bama. They are on decline imo.

Mmmhmm, so what would you call quitting the NFL after just one losing season with the Dolphins to go to Alabama? After months of openly denying and adamantly stating you were going to complete your contract? What a two faced (bleep)-head liar. Slick Nick indeed. He learned well from Bill Belicheat.

I don't blame college players for transferring (something they've done for many years in case Satan forgot). They have a limited window for playing time and to prove themselves to pro scouts.

Huskies are for real. Kicking the living tar out of Stanford. 30-0 and climbing.

Wasn't Washington the last team Steve Sarkisian coached before he came to USC? Just imagine how good they could've been if he hadn't been drunk half the time....

Saban is way out of line here.

He is making millions of dollars while his players make nothing. If they want to transfer to improve their chances of playing or for whatever other reason, it is fully reasonable for them to do so and frankly he should shut up.

Quite the Hail Mary for Tennessee there.

Purdue

Notre Dame finally snapped their losing streak but the defense is awful.

Kizer is the bright spot to this team.

I actually feel sorry for Helton. It isn't his fault that the Trojans went so many years with reduced scholarships but he is dealing with the aftermath of that.

I don't. As for the scholarships, they've had more than ample time to recover and they still suck. The Condom Brands can go slink back to the ghetto they came from.

How are they on the decline?

Recent years of top recruiting classes, a great group of seniors (such as Allen, Williams, Jackson, Howard, etc...), a true freshman QB who looks legit, a sophomore receiver who looks great too, and the best left tackle in the nation, plus arguably the best coach too.

Poor choice of words my bad. Ohio State is just a monster right now. This is the best defense Meyer has had since being there. The lost scholarships OSU took. It is extremely impressive where they are at right now. Right now I just think Meyer is the best coach in college football. I think their entire coaching staff is the best in college football.

So annoyed seeing how successful Chris Petersen is with UW.

Pat Haden really screwed up that one royally, went with Sark because of the "SC Pete Connection"..... UGH! Petersen was the #2 choice.

Pete Caroll's coaching tree has been pretty barren. No wonder USC always ends up with a dud.

Think Boise St. Without the blue field and a big budget.
