In honor of Ronny Turiaf's first minute of NBA action - follow the link to SWISH Magazine Issue #3 PDF for my article entitled "Heart"
I also have a couple of articles in issue 2 worth reading - specifically one on the Clippers and another on Stacy Augmon.

Man. Dude really LOVES the game. That brings a tear to my eye. I couldn't imagine having the game taken away from me and I only play once a week anymore.
Glad to see him back out there.

Emplay,
Do you know if Garnett can opt out after 07 or is it 08? I still do not know. |

Aw, man, let's give Turiaf some column space here without bringing up Garnett!
I am curious how the bench reacted when Turiaf's number was called? Did they get excited? When he took a shot (the box score says he did), was he cheered? I just can't imagine how big of a standing ovation he is going to get in his first home game when he comes in.
Nice work, eric. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

That's what I'm looking forward to - I hope it happens on Saturday so I can see it in person. |

This kid deserve to a Laker for life. I mean he had all the option to play in Spain and have a big cash but decided to stay with the Lakers. Perfect choice and that potrays his character as a person. Also his love for his family comes first and money is secondary to him. Now that's class.
In the final minute of game last night, I saw him protecting the basket and pushing away and hustling one of the Houston player. He missed one jumper but he's got the confidence to shot it.
He could play along to D. George to bring defense and need more experience with the tri. I'm glad PJ gives him a minute probably PJ was inspired of his cohesiveness and motivation to the team.

does anyone find it funny that the very first game Ronny joins the team, everyone else suddenly shows "heart" and we end up winning because of hustle and hard work?
lakers are undefeated when ronny is in the lineup |

Great article, Ronny is an inspiration to all. In an era where many NBA players have no principles they could learn alot from young Ronny. |

I hope this kid makes an impact and spends his entire career with the Lakers. It would be one of the toughest days for Laker fans, if for whatever reason the Lakers let him go or traded him. |

I just find it funny that Turiaf made it to the basketball court after open heart surgery before Boozer makes it back with a hurt hammy and stubbed toe. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Great read Eric and thank you. I was so happy when we got him in the draft. I watched every game I could that he was in through college at Gonzaga. What a story his life already is. Helping us win a few Championships would be a great addition to it. |

emplay, I was really distracted by your use of tense. All the switching between past tense, present tense, and some future tense really slowed me down as I was reading it. It was hard to figure out what had already happened and where things stand today.
Otherwise, I thought it was a good article that really showed the personal side of NBA life. Best of luck in honing your craft. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |
