Also, if Chris Paul stays with the Clippers, I don't see why Griffin bolts to somewhere like Miami. Playing with CP3 has to be more optimal for him than playing with Dragic, unless CP3 is more overbearing than everyone thinks.
Only way Griffin leaves is if the Clips lowball him |

We don't have the...cap space right now. |
What's funny is that, Brook is easier to move than Moz right? |
True. And I hate to say it but Hayward is better by far than JC, soooo, do we trade him for a pick? Don't know but I'm sure we could clear enough to grab him, that is, IF he wanted to come. The Celtics would increase their hate level, lol... |
No max even with stretching Deng now? |
If Magic/Pelinka can convince Hayward to come here, then work out a sign and trade (assuming they still are legal with the latest CBA). Good thing salaries do not have to match since Lakers have about $19M in cap.
I would send Utah JC + TBlack for Hayward. It is a nice consolation prize for the Jazz for helping with the signing. They will get nothing from Boston or Miami. |

You never see Blake in any of CP3's State Farm commercials. Only DJ, so I would believe there is something not right between the two. |

Seems about right. Gasol to GSW though? Interesting. What cap space do they have to offer him? If Spurs trade Aldridge, then Gasol would be needed. |
I think Gasol may take a sweetheart deal with GSW as a ring chaser. They don't have cap space to offer him anything.
I'll change my predictions above. I think both Hayward and Hill stay in Utah. I'll Minnesota as one of the teams that goes after Milsap.
Rubio/Butler/Wiggins/Milsap/Towns... that's a playoff roster, and not a bad one either. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Gasol already has 2 rings, and he opted out of a pretty lucrative deal, pretty sure he's looking for the money... |

Zero. He and his agent know he's not exactly the healthiest player. He will seek a long term guaranteed contract _________________ Kobe |

Pau declined his option with the Spurs to give them flexibility in free agency, and it was a decision they came to together. I'm pretty sure he's going to re-sign with them after the dust settles on a cheaper, long-term deal. |

Any numbers speculated?
I realize that this next comment goes against all that the Lakers hold as Holy in maintaining cap space.
But I would be interested in a longer term contract. If he can be signed for the right price. He is more of a combo G then pure point. Only 27 yrs old and competitive. Provides 16 pts/ 7 assts/ 4 reb / 1.5 st/ 36% 3pt%.
Sod player that would fit the system and mentality the Lakers are trying to develop.. Gives them a legitimate starter to offset Ball's learning curve. Can play beside him as part of the rotation long term.
I know... crazy thought after the Ball press conference but a guard rotation of Holiday, Ball, Clarkson (if he isn't traded) and Hart would be impressive. Maybe even keeping Nwaba and Ennis as third string depth? |

I know from very close sources that the hate runs both ways. If Blake comes back to the Clippers, it'll be for strictly financial reasons. |

I don't think Phil would want Clarkson. I would take Melo if it meant getting rid of Deng. |

No, that aint happening.
But i gotta give people in this thread props for talking about impossible scenarios for 700 plus pages.
Darren Collison as a rental might be a real possibilty though, maybe shelvin mack or norris cole sign on the cheap, worst case scenario, tyler ennis returns, not many other options out there right now at the point guard position

We need to find a G/F that can score and it has to be a 1+1 contract if we don't get PG. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

It is hard for me to see Lakers adding Holiday at >$12.5M/yr ... a guess on my part given JC is making that much ... after just giving up DLO to clear $20M in capspace. |

Yeah, i dont know, maybe overpay for a year of cj miles or james johnson, maybe we get a shot at tony snell or jodie meeks. lol, it's slim pickings at free agency this year but im ready to be positively surprised by the lakers,
Maybe we can get someone nice via a fair trade (hopefully)
clarkson and randle might be available |

FA Guards that would conceivably take a 1+1
Tyreke Evans
Ty Lawson
Deron Williams
Darren Collison
Brandon Jennings
Langston Galloway
Sergio Rodriguez
Ian Clark
Aaron Brooks
Raymond Felton
With the exception of Rodriguez, Clark, D-Will, these guys are all ball-stoppers. D-Will i could see being brought in to mentor Lonzo and I think that would be a good move. I would also give Sergio Rodriguez a look. Low usage, high assist rate, decent shooter from 3.
