Livingston should be a no brainer, but it ruins the fantasy.

The Lakers have to fill a position of need which is SG.

There is not a NBA starter type there on the roster.

Josh Hart is a possibility but playing two rookies won't work.

There is a guy that will fill that hole. Nick Young. Give him a 2 to 3 year contract at 5.5M/ year. Well worth the money.

If you gave Mosgov 17M for 4 years, Deng 18M for 4 years, and
Clarkson 13M/ for 4 years you can give Young that.
He was a starter and contributed in a loosing cause.

That Mosgov/Deng deal was surely a firing offense.

Young is not coming back because (a) he is part of the party, non-gym rate culture the lakers are trying to get rid of and (b) Lakers aren't going to commit to any deals that go beyond next season.

JC/Brewer for D.Wade/2nd rd pick... works for both teams

No starting quality guard is signing on a one year contract.

Lakers either have to spend some money, make a trade or go with what they got.

- Ball / Clarkson/ Nwaba/ Hart.

- maybe include Ingram or Brewer to the SG list
- Maybe Dozier or other d-league long shot can play some mpg
- maybe Ennis can be re-signed. Lakers can only go up to $2.6M. iirc

I am not exactly thrilled worth that rotation for this year let alone going forward with Championship expectations with the two max contracts.

I agree. Might be a coincidence but his house that's been on the market went into pending status the day after he declined his option. Looks like he's moving on and the neighbors couldn't be happier

Now that Dlo is gone, we have a hole to fit at SG. We do have Clarkson but I think he's better used as a 6th man off the bench. Do we give Nwaba the starting job? Maybe his offensive weakness can be shaded now that he's playing next to a floor general in Lonzo. Or do we go after a sg/sf in Free agency? Maybe go after KCP from Detroit or another defender like Tucker from Toronto? What if we stretch Deng and sign Nerlens? I don't see Deng getting playing time ahead at SF or PF with Ingram, Randle, Nance, and Brewer on the roster. I doubt a team will want to take him off our hands. With Nerlans it can be easier to part ways with one of our PF/C prospects if we want to make a trade.

Afflalo is kinda mean and dirty. Someone like him could be good for the Lakers. Plus he can hit a 3

Let's first start with Deng and two seconds.

Wade would be great for multiple reasons, similar to my reasons for getting Melo: unloads Deng contract, expiring, friends with LeBron, can still provide one year of replacement level talent. Might even put up better numbers than Dlo.

I would've laughed this off as pipe before draft day, but that front office is a joke. If they manage to unload both MozDeng in the same offseason? Wow. Do it Rob!

If they are rebuilding and starting fresh and the Lakers are serious about clearing cap....

Deng, Clarkson, Black, CHI 2019 2nd rd pick back for Wade and Rondo.

$36M cleared next year. And Lopez's $22M.

Doesn't he pound the rock and take a bunch of midrange shots? That's not really the style we're going for.

Can defend and hit the the three, plus he's a 1+1 candidate.

And then at trade deadline trade Julius with one of those massive expirings for PG
