That's going to be a tough sell. |
Lol, attach Capela. A stretch 4 is not a tough sell in today's league. The only tough sell will be getting CP3 to say yes.

There is no way any team trades for Beverley or Ariza. The free agent market is saturated with players like them, i.e. Kyle Lowry, Jrue Holiday, George Hill, Andre Robertson, Andre Iguodala, et al. |
And all of those free agents will cost you way more than the $7M or $5M (for 2 years at that) that Ariza and Beverly are making. |

Those caliber players don't come attached with a free draft pick like the Houston guys likely would. |
Nah, Dreamshake is accurate. The Rockets will get assets for Beverley and Ariza, not the other way around. Those are good players on cheap contracts. Teams that are happy to make the playoffs (Charlotte comes to mind) will give up stuff for those guys. Michael Jordan would give up a 2nd round pick for Beverley in a second, for example.
Now, Ryan Anderson is a different story. They would have to attach something to move him. |
Seeing as Houston has to get rid of them like they needed to get rid of Lin, we'll see. |
Houston also had to get rid of Asik that same summer, and got a 1st for him. Different players have different values. I'm not saying we would get great picks for those guys but we'd get something. And whatever it is may be what it costs to dump Anderson.
Either way, I don't see CP3 picking us over SA if he's trying to win. |

You guys are killing me.
If by some stroke of luck the Lakers could get into the conversation of Beverley for a 2nd rd pick , why would they hesitate?
All-Defensive guard that shoots 38% from 3pt range on a $5.5M contract that is team controlled non-guaranteed next year. And you are quibbling over a 2nd rd pick!
HOU might very well get a 1st rd out of it. Lakers have a desirable 2nd rd CHI pick that could be put to good use. |

Buy me a ticket on the Beverly train.
He would fit a very specific need for the team that I think could really help us. Wouldn't mind Ariza either, quiet guy who does a pretty solid job overall. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I get why we are chasing him. I just don't see why he would pick us over SA if Aldridge and the team play make-up. Harden was fine being the 3rd option in OKC, so no idea why some thing he couldn't play alongside CP3. |
Playing for D'Antoni at this point of his career might be more appealing than learning to play for Pop. Other than Pau, who's shown himself to be very adaptable to changing his game to fit the team's needs, Most of the players who had success under Pop started playing for him when they were young. _________________ "Suck it up. CP3's game is more Pop than D'Antoni though isn't it? He's more Tony Parker than Steve Nash. |

Houston's not beating GSW with CP3 if anything I think they are going to struggle a bit more, because I think it would take a while for CP3 and Harden to mesh given how much they each like to control the ball.
I think the window is closed for CP3, there isn't a team he can go to in the west that would beat the GSW and in the east there isn't a team he could go to and knock off the Cavs or even the Celtics.
He might as well collect the cash |

I don't think so. He may not be the passer Nash was but he's used to handling the ball a lot, creating plays, and relying on his jumper for scoring like he did. Parker was always a slasher who relied on his quickness.
Regardless, my point wasn't about the type of player CP3 is. It's about how much control over how he plays the coach will exert. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

interesting stuff on Lowry though now that we have Lonzo, even if PG blows us off I doubt we get involved:
One Western Conference executive thought Lowry could get four years and $100 million. Another agent felt confident would get $30-million a year. The catch? Both thought the deals would be from another team. “I’ve heard he wants out, like, yesterday,” said the executive. “From an agent and a player.” Said the agent: “I just heard from a team that they think they are going to get him.” – via SportsNet |

I would quickly prep high dollar one year offers to Korver and Afflalo. Casspi if you can't get Korver. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Boring probably in the good sense that we don't do something stupid like that. In hindsight I think the JC trade was not the greatest either. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I would try to trade him. Maybe to Utah but the pg/sg market is going to be tough _________________ Now Playing: The Zo Show @Staples |

No basis for this just my own speculation.
I wonder if the Wolves are in the mix? If they can land a legitimate two way threat PG they will have a deep playoff run with the team they are assembling and the commitment to defense they have.
Hate to say it but I'm impressed with what they are doing. |

Celtics also plan on letting Kelly Olynyk go to free up cap space. He'd be a good addition, but don't see him taking a 1 year contract. |
