Swapping Thomas for Irving makes sense, but the point of contention is whether they overpaid. |
I think the Celt's have been upgrading and getting rid of the redundant pieces. Heyward replaces Crowder and Kyrie replaces IT. If Ainge didn't think IT was worth a max deal and IT wasn't going to give a hometown discount, then Ainge solved two problems at once by getting rid of IT and getting Kyrie, who is arguably as good or better.
The Nets pick is valuable, but Ainge has accumulated enough assets that he still has picks next year. Also, the Celt's are moving into win now mode. They have a system they believe can win it all and have upgraded some key positions and still have some assets to trade mid-season. |

I think Kyrie is better than IT as well.
I think the Celtics are really high on Brown and Tatum.
If either of those 2 guys dont pan out, they depth will be hurt. |

Depends on what happens during the season. If they melt down then yes, Lebron is gone. If they win, I can see them keeping the band together. The front office has a lot more flexibility now versus having Kyrie still contracted. If they need to blow it up all they would need to do is move Love now. |

Hayward replaced Bradley in their lineup. Crowder will have to be replaced by Brown or Tatum and who knows if they can fill his role. |

I don't think that's a very attractive option for FAs, including LBJ.
It's a good idea for the Cavs to have rebuilding in mind when they are contending this year. They will have to think about trading Love sooner or later because he has PO in 2019. If they wait till 18-19, they won't get a package better than what Indy got for PG.

Doubtful. Wade is what 35 going on 36 now.....
