Why would Chicago consider Deng? He doesn't fit what they are doing. If we add a combo of young players and picks then maybe. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Not sure that a guy who was way more injured than Brook (70+ games a year last 3 years) is "insurance." Like the signing regardless. He will teach our bigs like Jules to set picks and play defense. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

one of few teams with cap, his history there and the need for a vet when they buyout Wade it is a 0.01% they would even want him but they wont so Lakers will have to stretch Deng next summer |

Trade Deng for Wade then. Chicago doesn't have to pay a buyout then. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

How much the NBA's biggest stars actually earn
Link
Interesting article showing the disadvantage built in for the Lakers (and all CA teams). Compare Steph Curry (CA State Taxes) and James Harden (Texas - No State Taxes)....Curry grosses over $6 Million more than Harden per year, but takes home only $120K more a year! Consider how much less Durant is taking when you combine his voluntary discount and California State taxes (compared to much lower OK state taxes). |

Yeah but you have to live in Texas, yuck. It is worth the money to live in CA. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Funny Deng for Wade is being brought up again. That would be the most ideal scenario, but I would hate to give up Kuz or Nance (we know Ball & BI aren't going anywhere).
Irwin & Feigan recently mentioned that Chicago already ran Deng into the ground, now they can finish him off... 😂😂😂 |

Unless it's Sacramento, then no. I'd rather play/live in Texas lol. |

all these guys are well over the level for the top tax bracket for federal which is 39.6% so I question how accurate all these numbers are, every player should have federal at 39.6% and they vary for each player |

True.
They'd probably look if we threw in Lonzo and/or Ingram... do not count on a straight up Deng trade, not happening... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I make the mistake of considering it a foregone conclusion in all these cap forecast discussions. Even if they were able to trade him for a lesser bad, long odious contract the annual savings would not come close to reducing his footprint from what they would get by stretching him.
And Kuzma, Nance, and Zubac just aren't enough for an expiring salary dump, IMO. |

IF the Lakers "really" have a couple of friends inbound super stars, I'll believe it when I see it, then tough decisions on the way... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I'd guess that is also very very likely.
From what I've heard, Magic and Pelinka are not big believers in Julius or JC as long term pieces. I have little doubt they're both going to be gone unless Julius shows a whole bunch this year and even then I don't see the odds of him being kept as that high.
JC, due to his deal, obviously has to be moved. Julius is going to be interesting to see whether it's via a trade or simply renouncing of rights.
There is a whole lot more tearing down before the building begins. |

Especially they need to get another 30 mil clear to have a shot at least a George and a Cousins. |

Dream scenario for me is GSW wins this year and maybe even next year. KD says I’m a champion, whatever. I want to go win one for OKC now, just like Lebron did for Cleveland. Or maybe he goes to Washington.
So after we get Lebron , PG next year, GSW will be weakened in 2019 offseason and we will be able to legitimately compete in year 2 of Lebron/PG, and Ingram and ball will be veterans by then _________________ Billions Billions Billions |

Does anyone know if Blue signed just a non-guaranteed contract or is it a 2-way contract? |
