There are players that are not as good as Ennis that got a lot more money this offseason.
I am not saying he is a star or anything....but he fits our team really well. |

There probably weren't any other teams knocking at his door. |
Perhaps but if you're getting the minimum, then why'd you take a team option(which would be minimum raised for the extra year of service) for another year? |
Well, he gets another year in the league (which doesn't appear to be a guarantee for him right now) and, I guess, the Lakers probably pitched him that the aim is to be a real contender in FA next year. A cheap backup PG would be pretty secure in retaining his place as part of that contender. _________________ "I got Wheaties!" |

Portland has traded Allen Crabbe to Brooklyn for Andrew Nicholson, league sources tell ESPN. |
dlo coming from bench? |
Probably starting with crabbe with Lin as 6th man. |
Lin is their starting pg. dlo goes to manu role which is a good fit for him |
Is this your opinion or fact.
Doubt he is coming off the bench. Either crabbe or Lin will. |
DLO is the franchise for the nets now this talk of him being benched is hilarious _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Or the Lakers simply told Ennis, look here young man, you got no other contract. I'll guarantee your 1 yr minimum but incase you blow up, we need that team option for next year... Take it or leave it
Or it was simply Magic sweet talk working (you see that banner...) |

I know you were joking on the max part of the deal but a wink-wink type arrangement where they say let us pay less than what you're worth for a couple of years(and we don't really know that he's worth more, hasn't seemed to have much of a market) and down the road we'll reward you with more than your market rate once we have your early bird rights could be sellable. But if I'm Ennis and more importantly his agent, that approach is too risky and I want that 2nd year to be a player option.

Crabbe was worse than DLO by pretty much every statistical measure last year, Russell will start. Don't know why you're going on this "Crabbe is starting over Russell" campaign.
Russell is gone, quit trying to use him to rile people up. |

based on the Nets. They're the ones that put out that they see him as a franchise cornerstone, along with LeVert. You must have missed it. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I assume you mean you would prefer the combo of Williams+Clark because Ennis' signing doesn't affect our ability to sign Clark.
Ennis signed a minimum contract which is an salary cap exception within itself. We still have our full Room Exception (4.3 Million) to offer to either Clark or Williams. |

There were also a lot of good players who didn't get good deals based on the market. Lots of players who had to take below they're worth. Ennis hasn't proved much except for some decent play. He's not a guy that teams would go after. But he can prove them wrong in the next two years. |

Magic was picking up the phone muttering, "I'm not calling Deron Williams, no way, hello? Tyler! we tried everybody else and now we're down to you, want to play for the Lakers next year? Good, good, no, no that's going to be a team option on that 2nd year, right, riiiight, well we'll see ok? Alright!" hangs up... |

Anyway back to Ennis, I wanted us to re-sign him regardless of who we used the exception on. Ennis is a perfect vets min with a team option on the 2nd year for us, absolutely perfect.
Now we just need to sign Ian Clark as backup 2. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
