Get 0 defenders in Teague and then Oak may help PG13 leave Indy.

After his first successful trade. "ROBbed" will become the new "Mitch-slapped"!

Over/under Magic trading for Okafor?

I don't think he'd send a premium asset (i.e. DLO/Ingram/Zub/Jules, etc.). More like an expiring + Houston's 1st.

I was reading a 6ers forum and a lot of them think Okafor is a bust. Maybe it's just their overconfidence in Embiid, but they really think Oak's future is just as an average role player.

Considering Zubac is the much better prospect, I'd rather just hold onto that pick then trade it for Okafor. We don't need him. The future of our center position is in Zub's hands.

For teams considering a trade for George, here’s the risk: As a free agent in the summer of 2018, he has considered re-signing with Indiana or joining his hometown Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell The Vertical

So rumors of both DMC and PG13 wanting to joining the Lakers in 2018. Continues to beat the dead horse of we should have never gave MozDeng or any other replacement level player more than 2 years this past summer.

Well. Let's get 1 at the least. PG13...the dream is still alive.

Wouldn't it make sense to stand pat and sign him in 2018 if he really wants to come here?

It's crazy how so many people were so wrong about not maintaining flexibility over "veteran leadership" on here.

On the bright side, with some creativity, DMC and PG13 might still be possible in 2018.

DLO/Ingram/Randle/Nance/Zubac (our main core) will only take up 27M in 2018. Deng stretched in 2018 would be 7.4M and Mozgov 6.5M. Would also require dumping JC. That would put us at about 41M before cap holds which wouldn't be enough cap space if the projected cap remains at 102M.

We would need about 60M in cap, so we would have to find a way to clear Deng or Mozgov off the books completely and stretch the other one.

What would you speculate would be the trade for George? Because I am not seeing realistic trade that happens today.

Maybe over the summer if the Lakers get a top 3 pick. but today just not seeing it.

If they are re-building they likely would attach a bad contract of Young, Jefferson or Ellis. So Lakers would need to get close to $30M to even discuss a deal. So maybe they accept Moz or Deng?

Assume Deng, HOU 1st, Ingram, Russell for George today

Not sure that gets it done. And would you do it? Suggest alternative?

I think at the minimum Bird would want Ingram/Jules/Houston 1st, 2021 Lakers 1st.

I don't see the value of leveraging our entire team for the next few years on the hope/assumption that Indiana and New Orleans stay bad and both George and Cousins want to switch to a lottery Lakers team.

We've done this song and dance before. It was the last 3 years before top free agents simply stopped bothering to meet with us. It's also worth noting that Magic Johnson was already a part of those failed free agent pitches.

I would take away the 2021 pick and do it in a second. If they insist on the 2021 pick, Id probably still bite.

How many years were we supposed to waste leaving money on the table, hoping a couple of star players would want to come team up in Los Angeles?

I don't like the contracts, but the idea was we were supposed to have a budding young core that would win 35-ish games, be fun to watch with a couple of veterans to help guide them along. The idea was we didn't NEED to go grab big superstars right now because these guys were our future superstars.

It was only a bad plan because the young guys aren't as good (yet anyway) as we thought and the vets we signed are more washed than we thought they would be.

I'm a big Ingram stan, that being said, if it takes Ingram + fillers to get PG13, I would strongly consider that.

1 part LULZ, but I wouldn't be surprised at the end of the trade deadline if we somehow ended up trading for both PG13 AND Okafor.
