If the Presidential Election (meaningless in my view) is of interest to you and prompts you to vote, then great.

In my opinion, your vote is far more powerful and meaningful if you study your local issues and such. For instance where I live we have an interesting election going on with incumbent Darrell Issa vs. Colonel Doug Applegate.

It has been a nasty race with a lot of spending and negative ads. A vote in this one is big.

For me locally, I want to see change on the pro-development Carlsbad City Council and will be voting against all current incumbents including Mayor Matt Hall.

I vote by mail. Of course I vote for representatives, President and such. I spend more time on ballot measures.

Like VLF I spend a lot of time reading and trying to make sense of them. Pros and Cons are so diverse it takes more than a notion to vote yes or no.

I think prop 64, legalization of marijuana, will pass this time around. It'll add to state coffers and from what I've read has some positive medicinal uses.
