I always liked him, maybe with the Lakers he has a home. Good competition in camp this year.

It's likely a non-guaranteed training camp deal. They had 2 spots to fill to reach the maximum of 20.
Either way, seems like TRob was on an upward trajectory last season:
Quote: On July 9, 2015, Robinson signed a two-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets.[23][24] He made his debut for the Nets in the team's season opener against the Chicago Bulls on October 28, recording 4 points and 5 rebounds off the bench in a 115–100 loss.[25] On March 5, 2016, he had a season-best game with 18 points and 17 rebounds in 40 minutes as a starter in a 132–118 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. On March 29, he made just his second start of the season and again scored 18 points, this time in a loss to Orlando Magic.[26] On April 3, he recorded his fourth straight double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds in a 106–87 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Maybe the Lakers want to piggyback off the success he had late in the season.

this has to be more than camp fodder, really.
they are pressing their advantage and creating mega depth with versatile bigs including Yi.
this has to be a deal precursor _________________ |D||O| |I||T| |R||O||B|

Have to wonder if this move will have all the overboard fans of Auguste going into panic mode.
No way they keep both. Robinson would seem to have the advantage as of today IMO.
