Leaving out people who have committed murder like Javaris Crittenton, who is the craziest NBA player of all-time?

Rasheed Wallace is the all-time leader in technical fouls, both overall and in a single season. Ron Artest attacked a fan. Sprewell attacked his coach. Arenas almost shot a teammate.

maxwell was awesome. sometimes i think if he were in the league now, he would be dominating beyond lebron levels.
the way he played (ignoring mentality) was just a hair short of MJ's style.

The craziest may have been the worst tempered, most highly self-absorbed great player of all-time: Rick Barry. The man could probably make Mother Theresa spit at him. The guy would argue and complain about anything and anybody, threw famously crazy fits on court. Probably is bi-polar.

A Classic Barry: he was once punched out cold at half time in the Warrior locker-room by his Coach Al Attles, a man not to be trifled without serious forethought. Barry had earlier refused to go back in the game in a terrible rout by the Bullets and stood nose-to-nose with the smaller man, daring him to take him on. Attles left the room having dumped the full laundry cart of towels on the crumbled and unconscious form of Barry, who subsequently had no recollection of the exchange and played the second half. Then, he picked a fight with Wes Unseld over a rather bone crunching pick Wes had set on him. Both were ejected. Same night, Barry spoke to reporters afterwards and forbade them to interview the team, and challenged them to a fight if that was what it took to stop them.

I was going to weigh-in with the inimitable JaVale McGee (even if he's less [clinical] crazy, but more [stupid] crazy), but after reading your post, I needed to get something off my chest ... that story you just shared up there re: Rick Barry? (bleep) amazing ...

Attles ... what a junkyard dog!

Dennis Rodman for sure. Andrew Bynum was low key crazy as well. Surprised he isn't in this poll, since we got to witness his antics first hand

After backing down from actual NBA athletes. That is why I go with Lucas, he was an enforcer in the game, he fought actual NBA athletes, not fans.

for once i agree.
ben wallace got off easy for that because of his "gentle giant" reputation. but he wasn't so gentle there when he freaked out and shoved artest full force with two hands to the face. i remember being most amazed by artest not doing anything at that. wallace should have got a year suspension for that. crazy times. nba has definitely gone the other way since then, all bubble gum and smiles.
