Here we go again testing the LG waters.
Who do you think won the debate?

A lot of people are saying Trump looked like he was on coke tonight, and that his natural intellectual curiosity is roughly equivalent to JaVale McGee in the throes of wave after wave of transient ischemic attack ...
I mean, I'm not saying that, but I'm hearing that from lots of people, so ... |

I noticed he'd combed his hair differently and lost the lobster look. He started well then faded. His political base is weak. He looked nervous on the split screen, drank a lot of water. Reminded me of Nixon. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I wish they would kick Trump off the stage and put Gary Johnson up there. |

Of you want to know who won, it isn't the candidate whose people are currently deleting his tweets... _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

I think Johnson sounds reasonable compared to Trump. Unlike these two clowns he actually was opposed to the war in Iraq from the beginning.
But of course when he tweets stuff like this people think he is nuts:
Edit: Yeah there are definitely some major concerns I have with Johnson but at least he acts like an adult. Trump looks like a spoiled, angry child up there.

How (bleep) GREAT does Willard / Mittens seem as a candidate right about now for the Republican base? I've commented before how baffling I find our political system (e.g., casting the net far and wide to find the very best candidates to battle it out for the right to lead the free world, uncovering every stone along the way, and these two are seriously the best options we can retrieve from the great depths?), but good (bleep) grief already ... the ascension of these Republican candidates is literally following some warped, inverted Moore's Law of competence over the past few election cycles ... each cycle, it trends further down, down, down into this political abyss. |

This is a comeuppance for them. They've been pandering to the far, far right for awhile now. Trump is just a manifestation of it's final form...I hope. |

That's not a very tough standard.
In an election cycle with two of the most unpopular candidates ever, if you run as a "none of the above" option, and if you still cannot average more than 8% in the polls, you've got problems. I get a little tired of the Gary Johnson crowd, because none of you seem to want to come to terms with what a train wreck he is. A whole lot of people have taken a look at him this cycle. Almost all of them have come away saying "Hell no." |

Hillary won, and it wasn't even close. Why should that be surprising? She's bright and well-informed, even if you dislike her character or politics.
Trump has too many personal quirks, quirks that are the equivalent to self-inflicted gunshot wounds; it would have been even more one-sided if this followed a formal debate format. He suffers from a poor attention span, which is why he kept rambling off-topic. He's thin-skinned, which is why Hillary easily baited him into interruptions and defensive posturing. Hillary blithely painted a picture of Trump as a bigot, a misogynist and even a fraud, particularly when cornered on his taxes, Obama's birth certificate, or the suits by the federal government on his Fair Housing Act violations ("We settled, admitting no guilt").
If you voted that Trump won, then you either missed the debate, or simply share Trump's inability to follow a logical argument.

Now that you mention it, I do see the symptoms, but no.
Trump obviously had a cold, which is what made the attack on Hillary's health a bit silly. He kept sniveling into the microphone, which isn't too dissimilar to someone who has been doing lines, and he driftlessly rambled on without staying focused on the question or issue.
The latter symptom is something that I read about him years ago, written by the COO of his casino operations. Trump simply doesn't have an attention span, and the cause isn't necessarily neurological as he also has poor self-discipline. |

How they can claim to be news is beyond me. |

I wouldn't say aiding and abetting, but it was pretty clear Holt helped out Clinton more than he did Trump that's for sure.
Wasn't it Holt that brought up birtherism? Trump's comments about the "presidential look", etc? And he didn't ask Clinton not one question about her super predator comments, Benghazi, email scandal, etc.
I actually like that Holt would ask those types of "tough" questions, but it's only fair if it goes both ways, IMO. |

Yep, most people have already made up their minds....I doubt there are much people who are still torn between the two since they are both drastically different in terms of policies and personalities. A lot of people watched to see the trainwreck of a debate. |

I think in terms of using false statements Trump has far eclipsed Hillary, and he has been making that the bread and butter of his campaign. It seemed like he was being asked to do that last night in an effort to set the record straight.
Trump even doubled down on falsehoods by saying the fact checking was wrong. Thestar reported 34 false things said by Trump while 4 to Hillary. I'm sure you could give or take a number of those in either direction but Trump's falsehoods far eclipsed Hillary's.
Trump interrupted Hillary a ton, I thought that is where the Moderator was weakest.
If Trump needs to interrupt Hillary so much and talk over her, then he can't complain about getting more exclusive questions. He can't interrupt her 50 times then say, "Why aren't you talking to her more?" |
