Yep, most people have already made up their minds....I doubt there are much people who are still torn between the two since they are both drastically different in terms of policies and personalities. A lot of people watched to see the trainwreck of a debate.

It's impossible to win an event when there is nothing to win. That wasn't a debate by any stretch of the imagination, nor should anyone have expected it to be. Hillary is the only rational candidate remaining that cares about running the machine that is the government.

Hillary supporters desire someone who will goto Washington and most effectively operate the machine. Trump supporters desire someone who will goto Washington and burn down the machine. So a win in the eyes of those two very divergent constituencies is going to look very differently. Hillary supporters were looking for competency and vision to shine through as proof that their candidate is best equipped to run the Washington machine. Thing is, there is no credible contest in that arena. Trump simply has no idea whatsoever how to run the machine, because he has no interest in doing so. Trump supporters are looking for evidence that their candidate isn't a machine member and will arrive in Washington ready to nuke the machine. And again, there is no credible contest in that arena since the opposition desires to operate the current machine.

If you've got trash spread about on the 40 acres behind your house, and you don't desire to throw it away, you call in someone who can best organise all that trash, and compartmentalise it in the most efficient manner possible. If you simply want the trash removed, you call a garbage man. Two entirely different skillsets for two entirely different desired jobs to be done. You don't call in a garbage man to organise the trash and you don't call in an organizer to haul the trash away. Folks seem to have difficulty understanding the VASTLY different desires of each of the constituencies. Too many are acting like both sides desire the same thing. If they continue seeing this division incorrectly, then they are giving that whackjob an opportunity to slip through.

Not surprising at all. It's as if nobody at Camp Hillary understands that she needs to start paying lip service to how she's going to change government in Washington. She doesn't have to even mean it, but she does need to at least say something about how she will. That's the little nugget many undecideds are waiting for, yet Camp Hillary seems clueless to it. It's baffling.

It all depends on who you're voting for. No one here is really going to admit that the other candidate won. Too much pride in politics. No one want to be wrong.

Michael Moore Says Trump Won The Debate

Quote:
The filmmaker warned against celebrating over how Hillary Clinton did in the debate and insisted nothing she did changed things.

“Pro-Hillary gloaters doing end-zone dance again when still on 50-yd line,” Moore tweeted. “You must get it in your head Trump is gonna win and act accordingly!”

“It’s over. Trump, the egoist, the racist, the narcissist, the liar, ‘won,’” he continued. “We all lost. His numbers will go up. ”

“She told the truth. So what.”

The debate won't change much minds....people are already in their camps of their choosing....the voters will decide based on the mood of the country. Usually its economics that wins out like most elections.

Hillary definitely won in my eyes and I'm not even a supporter. The thing that was disappointing was both candidates answers on dealing with the ISIS threat. Neither provided much more than the usual rhetoric about defeating them but I expected Hillary to provide more defined answers given her foreign affairs background.

Based on a focus group? Seriously?

Don't get me wrong. Focus groups can be interesting, but they often do not correlate to the reactions of the electorate as a whole. You also have to account for the Hawthorne Effect: people will behave differently when they know they are being observed.

I voted other. Hillary was Hillary, Trump was Trump, both are losers. The only winners were those who turned it off and watched the Saints-Falcons game.

Who are you voting for (thread below)? 64% - 14% > Hillary

Who won the debate? 61% - 13% > Hillary

Pretty easy to see what is going on here.

Hillary supporters think she won and Trump supporters think he won, almost one in exact proportion.

I don't think Trump supporters really think he won. They're trolling.

But he had the louder voice. Everyone knows that in a debate the loudest voice always wins.

Does it count as a win for Donald when he didn't go strangle Clinton at the podium? If so, Trump won. That's the bar that was set for him.

I was giddy with excitement waiting for the moment when Trump would yell, "YOU'RE FIRED!" at Lester Holt.

Both looked like losers to me, trump might of had some of his best moments in the opening debate, but had some of his worsts midway/towards the end of the debate.

Hillary, well, very little substance, just tried to bait trump into looking like a fool.. which in my opinion does nothing for "the people".

Either way, my favorite part of the entire debate was when trump was roasting Hillary about her time as a politician and why "now" the issues are more important than ever (because she wants to be president).

Honestly, i'm tired of these (bleep) politicians just walking around telling us what we want to hear, i'm not a fan of either of them, but it sure was refreshing to hear someone who hasn't been a politician for a long time say, people like you have created (bleep) situations.

It is what it is, i think both are candidates we should be ashamed of, but man these debates are a sad example of the leadership, or lack-thereof, in this country.

Team Hillary is smart enough to know the instant she did that, you and the other critics would jump all over her as fake.

She is fake. Early in her career she was a progressive activist. Over the past two or three decades, she has become more centrist as she and Bill have become wealthier and politically elite. When Bernie came along, she tried to shift left again to hold off his challenge. She hasn't been a liberal for over 20 years.

You just described most people, who tend to get less radical and more centrist over time. And she is liberal on a number of things. But whatever, she's someone who should always do the other thing. And even now, the argument she's getting is that she should be more fake.
