As @BobCooney76 reports, Sixers No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons has suffered fractured foot. Source says: "Fractured metacarpal."

This is sad news and I feel for him, the organization, and the fans.

Ben Simmons puts on 33 lbs, now a broken foot. Related? For sure. Athletes can't add that much weight that quickly w/out impacting movement.

So he jumped on the gear too?

Speculation is not news but it gives Sixer fans some hope I suppose.

what a bummer.

Injuries can decimate a team.

For the last two years, Joel Embiid was out.

I hope it is not serious. First Noel missed his entire 1st season then Embiid misses 2 seasons. Even Okafor had a season ending injury. That is some crazy bad luck.

I think most pro athletes in the major sports are on gear.

I wonder if Team Simmons envisioned Ben playing AND looking like Lebron, so they wanted to accelerate the bulking-up process. Too bad.

Ben getting injured for gaining too much weight and putting stress on his foot. His body looked a lot more capable of handling it to me. I know a lot of people wanted Ingram to gain weight fast as well. I don't want him going out for the same kind of issue.

Good thing, Simmons is young enough to recover and still have a pro-long career.

I will be rooting for him to bounce back.

Just trust the process.

With all these injuries it just keeps Embiid and Simmons fresh for 2020.

Bye.

Hinkie had Annie Wilkes (of Misery fame) on retainer in case any of Philly's draft picks threatened to break-out ... not sure what the new guy's approach is, but it's working! Poor Timothe Luwawu ... he's (bleep). And Furkan Korkmaz better stash himself if he wants to stay safe ...

It's too much to add to someone his age in his first season, the mass is too much to deal with against grown men. Gradual progression is key.

Too much mass, too fast. Ask Anthony Davis how that works out.

No, I believe its called the GM thinking he could outsmart the basketball gods. They smacked that organization back to reality.

Seriously. It's weird. It's the same type of fracture (Jones) Embiid suffered and another similarity between KD and Ingram is added to the list.

Has Philly surpassed Portland now with regard to the all-time league-worst franchise history of bad luck with high draft picks, big men and early career injury ? Oooof.
